Do you keep tabs on old bikes??

I'm curious if anyone keeps tabs on past bikes they've owned??

I recently sold my beloved Ninjette, and sadly, it took less than a month for the buyer to have a nasty incident that damaged the beloved Blue Meanie.. I had kept in touch with the buyer because he's a good kid, and I wanted to make sure his first foray into motorcycle ownership went well.. Things happen, and even though it's not my bike anymore, it hurt like hell to see the damage that was caused.. Anyone else go through this?? I feel like a parent all over again watching a child leave the house.. LMAO!!

Nope, no idea who has any of my previous bikes, cars, or anything else I have sold.

Nope. Junkyards have most of my old stuff anyway. I tend to run it till there's nothing left and it's worth more to the junkyard than the open market. Other stuff, I have no idea.

Same here, Or I sold it because I was tired of fixing all the problems on it. In which case I have no interest in hearing about it after I have sold it.

I guess if I get emotionally attached to my vehicles I keep them until I am no longer attached to them.

Yeah I have, it sucks knowing that you rebuilt a bike top to bottom, explained to the guy how you need to run premium gas mixed 32:1. then him running straight gas through it and ceasing the topend.

That's why I wouldn't want to keep tabs on a vehicle after selling it.

I'm still on my first motorcycle. I don't think it will ever see another owner. I'm planning on keeping it until it can no longer be economically repaired.

I understand your sentiment though Butch. I think if you have spent a lot of time with a thing and put energy into maintaining it, you might keep some level of attachment to it even if it's no longer yours.

For some reason I still have my first 56K modem! I spent a lot of time using that thing and it opened up a whole new world to me.

And here I am using the stock comcast modem router all in one, when I have a perfectly fine Motorola Surfboard, and a few routers on the shelf. I really need to cut the cord on the land line phone.

Had a new pickup many years ago that I did some mods to - color matched the grille and bumpers, blacked-out a few things, nothing major but it was clean-looking without a dent.

Sold it about 3 years later. When the buyer picked it up I remember him saying "I hope I can keep it as nice as you did".

The guy happened to live on my way to work, so I saw it daily.

After about a month the passenger's door was caved in, then the rear bumper was partially ripped off, then the passenger's window was broken out. Sat that way all winter. I think it eventually was towed away and junked.

Oh well.

I haven't made any efforts to follow up on vehicles I've previously owned. I did have some correspondence with the guy who got my Vision ( a moto I had owned for over 20 years ) with some questions and he shared with me some of his experiences with it. He decided to sell it after about a year and asked me if I wanted to buy it back. I declined as I have moved on to my Ninjettes.
I have inadvertently found out about previous motos and autos but usually it is bad news: wrecked, abandoned, unpaid tickets .

I don't keep tabs on mine, but I guess @Racer x can keep tabs on a couple of his that I bought.

The last bike in line is the 2007. Still playing around with the cafe racer. Had it running this past week, just finally found all the parts for the gas tank in that little metal box.
