Center Stand for 300/250
Search proved fruitless, anyone fitted a older gen 1 center stand to a +08 or newer 300 yet? I'm guessing the exhaust will run right thru where it would need to be welded on.

It may be short too, because the pre-gens' have 16" wheels.
Maybe from a Ninja 500? I absolutely love center-stands, they are very practical.

Center stands do not look very good on a single exhaust bike due to having to weld a bump stop on the opposite side for the stand to rest on in the up position. When I changed my dual exhaust to an Area P 2 into 1 I had to take my center stand off due to the bump stop sticking out. I saved my center stand and reinstall for maintenance and washing.

I'm not worried about the look, you can't see it from the saddle!

This is where the pivot is in the pre-gens':
This article explains how to work with around the spring: http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/I_am_ha...ts_centerstand

Thanks for the pic of the mount.
The old coin trick! I have a spring puller but that might come in handy if I find a way to get the thing bolted on, thank you! I think I might need a CS that has a Y shape to it, with the narrow point of the Y attached to the frame tabs I would weld on, the wide part being the feet. |
