Just bought my first bike!
Hey crew! Just bought a 2010 Ninja 250 as my first whip. Picked up the shifting pretty quickly and can't wait to get my license later this week. Bike needs a little work (fork seals are leaking and front pads are toast) before it'll pass inspection, but we're getting there! I bought it for 1700 with 5,200 miles on it. Excited to treat her right and make memories! Excuse the oil change mess under the bike Would love to get people's advice on first steps towards really making the bike MINE!

Hi Jesse, welcome! The most important thing to do is take a riding course from the MSF. The first accessories to buy are good, protective riding gear. The bike can wait until you have a few thousand miles on it, when you can then decide if it needs anything changed. I've had mine for 8 years and it's pretty much stock.

Welcome!
Easy mods- rim tape (I used a reflective one); a bag (I use a tailpack or a tank bag, depending on mood and what I got). You can get it wrapped to change the color. I agree that you should take the course and get riding gear to protect you first, and there is plenty of time to alter the bike later. |

Welcome to the Ninja place! I have a pre-g e n. Mostly I like the stock look and function of the bike. They are amazing little, but BIG, machines.
Cheers, Bill G. |

Have fun! yeah, always replace brake pads if the forks are leaking badly enough to get oil down there.
