Hello BMW G310R!

Here it is folks! BMW USA

The bike has been designed to be the basis for a family of bikes and we will see half faired and ‘adventure’ bike versions a short while afterwards according to insiders.

I don't know about you, but I think it looks like a fun ride! Why can't the Japanese make their small cc sportbikes with USD forks?!?

The BMW's built in Germany are technology laden and it requires special software/understanding/tools in diagnosing and repairing them.

If you choose to have a dealer/mechanic do your work the price tends to be higher.

The BMW's built in India are engineered in a way that odd parts are in front of other parts so a simple maintenance becomes a big ordeal. On top of requiring specialty tools. IE Torx instead of Hex or Allen bolts. They also demand a higher price when being worked on.

Just my opinion. I'm sure it's an awesome bike.

That is an awesome bike! I'd deal with the headache of doing things the German way...

Yeah, I can see it not being as easy for the DIYer to work on. But a lot of newer bikes are also headed in that direction. And any dealer around my area will screw you over on maintenance.

BMW is famous for having teething problems with pretty much all of their products. I am afraid, that this designed from scratch engine (and the bike itself) will have them too.
On the other hand, if they price it well...

Well - if U don't like the older 400 bikes - then how about this 2015 model:

I think that (KTM RC390) is what she meant when she said - "I'm still miffed we are getting single cylinder tractors with steel frames."

I agree with her. I would like a full-tilt 400/4 street bike with an aluminum frame, USD forks, and a 15,000 redline.

Not gonna happen.

I looked at a '93 Bandit 400 today that was just too rough and had too many issues. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but interesting.

FZR 400 is sweet. All the cool kids had them at the track back-in-the-day.

the 400 Bandit is a sweet handling little bike. I bought one for $300.00 about 10 years ago and raced it. Good times.

This one was a bit of a mess and overpriced - but for $300 I would have taken it!

I saw the first photo and thought "oh, they made a FZ-09 (or the similar FZ-07). I'll bet Yamaha is flattered."

Yup. Just looking for a mini supersport. I'd even be willing to pay for it and all. Maybe one day. Or I'll have to build a super single. Sigh...

Yeah, another single cylinder bike in the 300-ish CC range... Oh, well.

In my opinion the most interesting new motorcycle is the Suzuki Recursion.

Parallel Twin, 180 degree crankshaft, just like our EX250s. Turbo charged and inter-cooled = tons of torque (they're saying 74 foot-pounds at only 4,500rpm).

An interesting item: it's a single overhead cam and two valve engine. With boost and low revs there's no need for more.

This summer I'm moving to Denver Colorado (5,280 ft elevation). A turbo bike sounds like a good idea to me.

You could start with an RC390 frame, rc8 forks, 690 motor... Lol

I agree this BMW is a cb300f knockoff. Only difference is the price/logos.

naked bikes are going to look similar, not much you can do about that other than change the headlight.

Agree with the steel framed thumper comments, BORING!!

Lets see something new and exciting for a change huh?

KTM may be the one to look to for that, at least when you are talking smaller stuff.

^ I could maybe see KTM coming out with a small twin but that is it. Small twin is better than a thumper for a street bike IMO but still kinda same old same old
