Raising Idle RPM

So I noticed today on the way home from work after about 20 minutes into my ride that when I stopped my bike would only settle to about 2000 RPMs instead of its usual 1200-1500 idle. It was a crazy hot day and it had been in the sun all day dont know if that makes a difference or not but I figured I would throw it out there.

So what are the possible causes of this? Is it cause for concern?

Probably debris in the jet(s), which will cause the RPMs to 'hang'. You can try chemicals, such as Seafoam, or pull the carbs and inspect all the jets.

Is seafoaming a bike recommendable? Got any quick tips on the process? Do you replace plugs like you would in a car?

Same thing here. On hot days when im out for a ride or coming home from work, my rpms stay higher up too after only about 10 mins into it. Not only at a stand still but on the road, @ 70mph im almost a full 1K up from usual. Any ideas why???

Air temperature can have an affect how an engine runs. Air density increases as air gets colder. This means that there are more oxygen molecules in the same space when the air is cold. When the temperature drops, the engine will run leaner and more fuel is needed to compensate. When the air temperature gets warmer, the engine will run a little richer.
