When the pavement ends, but the journey continues, Alpinestars has you covered there too with the new Durban Gore-Tex Jacket and Pant. As kingpin to their Tech Touring line, the Durban is your wearable multi-tool with a lightweight multi-panel main shell, held in place with an adjustable interior waist belt and an army of features. A pair of removable liners (Gore-Tex and micro-fleece) and keep you warm and dry when necessary, and a redesigned open-mesh ventilation system running the full length of the jacket keeps you cool while still zipped up. For those extreme heat rides, the sleeves now zip off as well.



Safety comes in the form of CE-certified elbow and shoulder protection, and interior space for chest and back protection upgrades. The jacket is also fully compatible with the Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support system as well.

The Durban Gore-Tex Pant consists of the same main shell build and color scheme as the jacket with the addition of medial lower leather panels for extra abrasion resistance on this over-the-boot enduro style product. Alpinestars patented Vector knee construction is a pre-curved design allowing for greater movement and less effort, and includes removable CE-certified protectors within.

An internal waist connection zipper helps keep the pants in place in the event of a get-off when not opting for the accessory bib and suspenders. Alpinestars 2016 Collection: Sport Touring


New for the Alpinestars catalog is a Sport Touring product line and the Pikes Drystar Jacket tops the line for 2016. As a cross between their adventure wear and their street wear products, the Pikes offers a heavy duty denier textile main shell with the external TPU shoulder sliders seen on their racier products, as well as a full-length 100% waterproof Drystar liner and removable long-sleeve thermal liner as well for multi-season wear. Leather panels on the lower sleeves offer greater slide protection and CE-certified elbow and shoulder pads absorb any hits. Internal pockets front and rear have advanced poly-form comfort layers but easily make way for accessory upgrades for fuller protection.

Heat management is modulated by zippered cuff closures on the sleeve and the Alpinestars Climate Control System (CCS) offers more air flow to the shoulder and back via horizontal vents near the collar-bone. The Pikes is available in international sizes S to 4XL and retails for $429.95.


The internal full-circumference waist connection zipper pairs well with AST-1 Waterproof Pant. Their all-weather touring and/or commuter pant offers a 100% waterproof and breathable membrane, with pre-curved legs and an articulated knee construction and CE-certified protectors. Optimized for use with the AST-1 waterproof jacket, and available in a ‘short’ version as well, the pant has Ballistic nylon reinforcements on the thighs, knees and seat area and internal foam hip protectors for the occasional get-off.

For dryer and/or hotter rides, the Multiair XCR Boot has the same 360° Achilles-heel security single-buckle closure system found on the Sport Touring boot above, and the waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex XCR membrane, but also has 3D mesh instep and Achilles panels for even greater airflow and breathability. The Corozal Drystar Glove has a durable poly-textile upper, with an over-molded hard knuckle protector, and a leather palm. Rubber thumb and palm reinforcement give greater grip on the ride. This short-cuff Velcro-closed glove is touchscreen compatible and includes a helmet visor wiper as well as the race-derived and patented finger bridge to keep the pinky from undue damage in a crash.
