[motorcyclistonline] - Alpinestars 2016 Tech Collection For ADV and Sport Touring | N

When the pavement ends, but the journey continues, Alpinestars has you covered there too with the new Durban Gore-Tex Jacket and Pant. As kingpin to their Tech Touring line, the Durban is your wearable multi-tool with a lightweight multi-panel main shell, held in place with an adjustable interior waist belt and an army of features. A pair of removable liners (Gore-Tex and micro-fleece) and keep you warm and dry when necessary, and a redesigned open-mesh ventilation system running the full length of the jacket keeps you cool while still zipped up. For those extreme heat rides, the sleeves now zip off as well.

Safety comes in the form of CE-certified elbow and shoulder protection, and interior space for chest and back protection upgrades. The jacket is also fully compatible with the Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support system as well.

Waterproof pockets keep your important stuff dry, and the larger rear utility pocket is removable and perfect for storing liner layers, maps, or small game. Above that is space for a 2-liter hydration bladder and comes in 7 sizes from S to 4XL. Retail price is $799.95.

The Durban Gore-Tex Pant consists of the same main shell build and color scheme as the jacket with the addition of medial lower leather panels for extra abrasion resistance on this over-the-boot enduro style product. Alpinestars patented Vector knee construction is a pre-curved design allowing for greater movement and less effort, and includes removable CE-certified protectors within.

An internal waist connection zipper helps keep the pants in place in the event of a get-off when not opting for the accessory bib and suspenders. Waterproof pockets on the side keep your cash dry while the extended air-intakes keep the pant well ventilated. Comes in international sizes 48-60 and retails for $599.95.

No true adventure outfit would be complete without a pair of sturdy riding boots. The Corozal Adventure Drystar Boot is packed with features and adventure. A multi-panel construction of PU-coated leather, microfiber and suede leather, with front and rear accordion flex zones and an external polymer shell offer impact protection and lateral foot support. A new two-buckle closure system offers lighter weight, smaller detents for finer foot fitment and a quick release lever for easier ejection.

The waterproof and breathable Drystar membrane offers all-weather protection and the integrated steel shank offer superior arch support. The boot is CE-certified and comes in US sizes 7-13 and retails for $289.95.

For the more extreme riders out there, those of us willing to ride well in to the winter months, there is the help in the form of the Alpinestars Tech Layer Top. Designed to replace your jacket’s liner with a thicker and more finely crafted windproof and thermal fleece layer. Pre-curved sleeves, with Lycra cuffs and a thumb loop, make for easy fitment to your outer layers. External hand pockets, and a zippered chest pocket, allow for stylish après-riding wear. Available in international sizes S to 3XL and retails for $139.95.

Alpinestars 2016 Collection: Sport Touring

New for the Alpinestars catalog is a Sport Touring product line and the Pikes Drystar Jacket tops the line for 2016. As a cross between their adventure wear and their street wear products, the Pikes offers a heavy duty denier textile main shell with the external TPU shoulder sliders seen on their racier products, as well as a full-length 100% waterproof Drystar liner and removable long-sleeve thermal liner as well for multi-season wear. Leather panels on the lower sleeves offer greater slide protection and CE-certified elbow and shoulder pads absorb any hits. Internal pockets front and rear have advanced poly-form comfort layers but easily make way for accessory upgrades for fuller protection.

Heat management is modulated by zippered cuff closures on the sleeve and the Alpinestars Climate Control System (CCS) offers more air flow to the shoulder and back via horizontal vents near the collar-bone. The Pikes is available in international sizes S to 4XL and retails for $429.95.

The internal full-circumference waist connection zipper pairs well with AST-1 Waterproof Pant. Their all-weather touring and/or commuter pant offers a 100% waterproof and breathable membrane, with pre-curved legs and an articulated knee construction and CE-certified protectors. Optimized for use with the AST-1 waterproof jacket, and available in a ‘short’ version as well, the pant has Ballistic nylon reinforcements on the thighs, knees and seat area and internal foam hip protectors for the occasional get-off.

External boot gusset zippers help the pant make the right fit with you boots. Comes in international sizes S to 4XL (2.5 cm shorter version S to 2XL) and retails for $199.95.

The Super Touring Core-Tex Boot is a revolution in tech touring footwear, with a lateral-side reverse-action pump ratchet single-buckle system and offers a narrower, more aerodynamic profile, and greater feel for your motorcycle. This rear-entry boot has a wide entry aperture and accordion Achilles flex zones for even easier entry. All-weather performance is provided by the full-grain leather main shell and Gore-Tex lining. This boot is CE-certified and comes in international sizes 37-48 and retails for $399.95.

Lastly Alpinestars introduces four new all-weather and touring gloves and a pair of backpacks for the commuter class. The Corozal Drystar Glove has a durable poly-textile upper, with an over-molded hard knuckle protector, and a leather palm. Rubber thumb and palm reinforcement give greater grip on the ride. This short-cuff Velcro-closed glove is touchscreen compatible and includes a helmet visor wiper as well as the race-derived and patented finger bridge to keep the pinky from undue damage in a crash. Available in international sizes S to 3XL and retailing for $109.95.

For more weather and ride protection, the Polar Gore-Tex Glove is designed to give the optimum insulation and protection on your rides. This medium-length leather and textile glove has a dual cuff closure system, an over-molded hard knuckle protector, a patented finger bridge to keep the third and fourth fingers more secure and a reinforced leather palm. It’s touchscreen compatible and comes in international sizes S to 3XL and retails for $149.95.

A lighter alternative to the Polar glove, with many of the same features, and a longer over-the-jacket Velcro cut gaiter, is the Apex Drystar Glove. With a Drystar membrane for waterproofness and a Thinsulate layer for warmth, this poly-textile upper and leather palmed glove comes in international sizes S to 3XL and retails for $89.95.

The last pair of new gloves comes in both a male and female cut, and includes a poly-textile upper with a leather palm for the more comfort. The SR-3 Drystar Glove and Stella SR-3 Drystar Glove (pictured) are comfort-minded tools for the everyday rider. These long-cuff gloves do not have hard knuckle protection but they do have a Drystar membrane for waterproofness and a Thinsulate layer for warmth. They are available in international sizes S to 3XL (XS-XL Women) and retails for $69.95.
