O2 sensors
so i am looking to fine tuning my bike
i have a carb with a dynojet kit i was thinking abut getting this air/fuel gauge http://www.equus.com/Product/8366/2%...el-Ratio-Gauge it looks to use narrow band o2 sensors Since there is a chance that in the next year or 2 i will upgrade to efi i was wondering if the efi uses narrowband o2 sensors and what size is the bungs? I have seen bungs between 12 and 18mm i have seen info about wideband o2 sensors and was hopping that it uses the same size bung from what i seen it is 18mm (from LSU 4.9) not sure if there is smaller. what is the smallest size wideband sensor? has anyone tuned the fuel air mixture using the the wide band o2 http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...tid=16328&js=y is it easier/better to use it then wide then narrow band for tuning? and yes i know that wide band o2 sensor and narrow band are not comparable with each other. i was even thinking about using a wide band to set each side individually and putting plugs in the bungs. Dose anyone know about the if ninja in other countries and what o2 sensor it uses? |

why would you bother tuning the carbs if you are going to switch to efi? and vice versa.

So you are saying that i should ride, possibly rich for 2 years and not have all my power available to me now? (fouling my spark plugs)
or what i think, install the bungs now, tune my system, then in 2 year switch to efi. i am just thinking of the future. i just installed the dynojet a few days ago. and i would like to tune the air/fuel mixture independently, and as far as i know this is the only way of doing it. efi is last on my list of upgrades with my attempt at a custom header being next. |

just tune the carbs like normal. theres almost no point installing o2 sensors before you get efi. its not that hard to tune carbs by feel. its pretty obvious if a jet works well or not. start with the biggest main and go down until it gets worse. then go up one jet to stay on the rich side. then tune your needle position for midrange and then tune the mixture screws at idle
