Q/A please on 04-08. 636 vs zx6r????

Im a little.confused on the difference between a 636 and zx6r. Or are they the exact same thing.. not to sure anyone with some knowledge let me know the differences.

They are the same. Some year models of ZX6R were 636ccs and, thus, are colloquially referred to as "636" instead of the model name, ZX6R. The ZX6RR is the 600cc version that they sold for racing classes that didn't allow the extra 36ccs. They killed the 636 and the ZX6RR and just sold a 600cc ZX6R in 2009, 10, 11, 12, but now we are back to where we were (actually, I haven't seen a 600cc ZX6RR announced for 2013).
