The kitchen build is almost finished. Just need to run a couple pipes under the house for the drain and then touch up the paint I can't decide what to cook first . Maybe a stew . The refrigerator makes crushed ice. Maybe a margarita first!

Thank you for the kind words. I am broke enough. Starting a business would ruin me.

Ok, trying to come up with that cake to DIE for.

you know, you get that cup cake at the bakery and can't figure out why is SOOOO DAMN good. you make them at home and it's meh..

I think I cracked the code.

1 box of yellow cake mix
1 package vanilla pudding mix
3 eggs
3 egg yokes
1 stick of butter melted
1-1/2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup whole milk
1 T vanilla extract
1 t salt

Mix for a 5 minutes or until the batter starts to stand up, this is not "pouring" batter, it's pretty firm.

350'F for 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the pan or cup cakes.

when you jiggle the pan, the cake should not move, or you can use the tooth pick method. stick a tooth pick into the middle of the cake, if it comes back with out cake/batter on it, it's cooked.

OMG figured I was going to just try one and take the rest to work for "disposal"... 1 of 6 cup cakes made it to work... and I ate that one for lunch.

My wife won’t eat meat and is allergic to shell fish. So I eat a lot of veggie stuff. That is one of the things that has me interested in Sushi. A lot of vegggie stuff that has a great taste.

Wife and I got an Instant Pot last Prime Day (7/11). It's freakin' awesome. Make my own yogurt, killer chipotle veggie chili, truly amazing mac & cheese, all kinds of stuff. SO easy and efficient.

Anyone ever marinate chicken in yogurt? Then grill it . I have not tried it but it sounds good. Not sure if you do it bone in skin on. Or how it is best to prep.

I've marinated in yogurt. Usually add some spice. Sriracha and yogurt also makes a nice marinade or dipping sauce. I usually take the skin off but not always.

I used to marinate stuff in yogurt, and they always had yogurt sauce around in Afghanistan; it was tasty!

I've been looking at the instapot lately, but haven't really found a need for it yet... Still looking though

Not long ago I wasn't much of a seafood cooker. I have steamed shrimp, crab, and lobster, but that was about the limit of my experience. All of a sudden I just got the itch to cook some softshell crab. I saw some in the cooler at a Whole Foods near me. I grab four and brought them home, not having an idea what to do.

A little research later, I was cleaning them and frying them in a skillet. That small step made me take a bigger one. I stepped into the world of Asian cuisine.

I decided to make seafood ramen tonight. Lots of shrimp, some king crab, garlic, green onion, and ramen. It came out really amazing.

It is based off a Korean dish

Here is the recipe:
two packs of Nong Shim Instant Shin Ramyun (got it at an Asian market, but I heard walmart stocks this brand)
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 sticks of green onion, sliced
whatever seafood you want, about 1lb in total (I used king crab and shrimp. You can also use squid, octopus, mussels, clams, etc)...use small cuts to cook faster. (if using crab, remove it from the legs and all that, meat only)
1tbsp cooking oil (canola for me)

Instructions
Heat a pot on medium (or medium-low) heat
add oil
add garlic and green onion
saute' for 1-2 minutes, stir constantly, don't want to burn them
add 4 cups of water (I used 550ml x 2 due to package recommendations)
increase heat to high
add seasoning from ramen packets
once boiling, add ramen bricks
when the ramen start to break apart, add the seafood
cook until the seafood is cooked
(optional: add 1-2 eggs to the boiling mixture if desired....didn't do that this time, maybe next time)

Put some kimchi out there to go along with the ramen and you are set!

DONE
Feeds two people with a little bread on the side. At our house we had nothing left after dinner.
