My favorite light so far is the AMX ELC BIS. The gun feels really OP (alpha, pen) for its level but it's balanced out by the aim and reload time.

Thanks, that tier 4 T28E is a beast for DPM (Damage Per Minute), I'm glad that I picked it up for under $10 while it was on sale, my other USSR med crews have multiple skills/perks, but no Radio Operator for USSR med tanks, so I moved the ROs from LT and HT into the T28E and BIA perk still works.

WarGaming realize the current Light Tanks (LT) and Artillery (SPG) gameplay is pretty much broken.. solutions are being proposed to change the game dynamics/vehicle roles and other proposals are generated through WoT forum.

Linky: WG Semi-open feedback

Personally, I just play the game in however form it comes; adopt to whatever broken dynamics that are existing.. Once in a while I get lucky and get epic results in a battle, that's just the way it suppose to be... not every single battle had to be an epic experience.

I tend to prefer turreted LTs, I've played ELC AMX in the past, with only two crew members, I feel like I get less EXP per battle while playing it; so I stopped. It was a fun vehicle to zip around on the battlefield.

That's crazy, the T28 with the 57mm already had high DPM.

It's a pretty long video, but pretty good content:

How to succeed in random battles.

Decent explanation of importance of "situation awareness".

While in-game, go to "settings", "general" tab, there is a checkbox for "enable replay", you can have it set to record all battles or last battle.
Replay files are saved in your WOT 'Replay' folder.
Change the file name to save replay, or it will be overwritten once you enter the next battle.

Upload your replays to WoTReplays by logging in with your WarGaming ID and sometimes you can automatically win prizes, little amount of gold, premium time or even premium vehicle. It's been a while since I've won anything though.

Had a decent couple of days of playing in the T28E, best $9.xx spent on WoT:

REPLAY: T28E OP for tier 4 battle

REPLAY: Did all I could..
A draw b/c of lame tier 5 TD with better mobility and camo rating than me, in full HP;
refuse to perform as scout when allies are ahead in vehicle count.

There is a lot of hate for artillery in the game, mostly due to players too lazy to move about to take cover and get 1-shotted by artillery players.

German artillery line usually have excellent accuracy, but very narrow gun traverse. As you move up the line, the tier 5 Grille has much better mobility, make sure you take advantage of that and move between reload.

That Pz has pretty good traverse and accuracy.

And I've seen more than a few people whine about arty. Usually after I take them out with one shot.

I've been on the receiving side of it a few times too when I forget to keep moving or hugging obstacles. Also had a lot of times that a shell just missed me or gave me a little splash damage. I think I've been missed by artillery a lot more than I have been hit by it. And I know from playing Arty that I miss a lot more than I hit most of the time.

Hadn't really thought about it. I'm mostly working up the Russian line right now.

I ran up against a Hotchkiss at one point and it cleaned my clock so I looked into it a bit and tried it out. It's a light tank that plays like a medium or heavy where none exist. It is real slow so you usually aren't out in the front of the attack and people seem to ignore the light tanks if a medium or TD is around. It's slow because it has pretty decent armor for a Tier II. TD's and mediums can take it out but other lights usually have a problem with it.

I'll have to look into the ELC AMX.

Edited to add, Although it looks like the ELC AMX is along a different line so I would have to go back a ways to work to it.

Playstyle of the Hotkiss is like a heavy tank, with its accurate gun, just sit next to something solid to avoid artillery and hold choke point of map.
Front driver's hatch is a pretty big weakspot, make sure you wiggle the vehicle between reload.

ELC AMX can truly raise havok late in the battle, take full advantage of its CAMO rating and mobility to survive the early part of the battle.
Once both teams are wore down to low HP, the mobility and firepower really comes to devastating effects, even against higher tier vehicles.

So I had been playing on a 5 year old 15" laptop, which only ran in low resolution, it was my daughters old college laptop and I took it when my old desktop died mostly because I hated Windows 8 and she still had 7 on hers. It gave up the ghost about a week and a half ago.

Saturday I bought a new desk top, and a 27" monitor Windows 10 which I can kind of tolerate. Wow did not know what I was missing. My game play has not improved a bit, but everything looks a lot nicer.

5-Y Anniversary Specials starts tomorrow 12 APR 2016.

All tier 8 and above regular vehicles are on sale.

KV-5 is a nice tier 8 Russian HT, troll armor, decent credit farmer, good crew trainer, preferential matchmaking.
If anyone plan to play Russian HT eventually, I feel it's worthwhile to pick it up for $35.

As you work your way up the Russisn MTs, keep an eye out when premium vehicles becomes on sale.
Too bad if you have already missed the T28 E30, that thing is a beast at tier 4, generate credits and trains 6-crews... even though not many Russin MT have RO (Radio Operator), I just put HT RO in the premium tank.. still get 60% more EXP per battle.

Matilda IV has troll armor, quick firing rate, just slow.. pick your flank and commit or just camp and pick up kills against low HP enemies as they break thru the defenses. The quick firing usually can track enemy and fire one or two shot before enemy reload.

Why is it lately that most every game I play I'm 2 tiers down from most every one else in the game at the bottom of the list. Every time I come up against an opponent my shells bounce and they kill me with one shot. I've gotten to the point if I'm 2 levels down near the bottom of the list I just run out in the middle and get blown up so I can start playing another game quicker. (Although one time I tried that I ran all the way up the middle killed 3 artillery and 2 light tanks and was the highest score on my team even though we lost)

If you are playing mostly LTs (Light Tanks), 2-3 tier spread is not unusual... play more HT (Heavy Tank), that's more likely to get top tier in battle... didn't u have a Japanese Tiger VI premium tank? that thing gets to be top tier more than others in my exp.
BTW, platoon with someone will most likely get you positioned low on the totem pole.

Since v9.14 new physics update, I've seen lots of tanks stuck on its side.. unable to get back onto its tracks; mostly fast, mobile LTs.
Some occur right by the spawn, stuck ally unable to contribute for most of the battle time.

I've never platooned with anyone, I didn't figure it gave me any advantage. Right after the new version came out I had one of my team mates ram me and flip me over. I tried to shoot them but that doesn't work to well upside down. But then they came back and kept ramming into me until they flipped me back up. But by that time about 4 enemy tanks came up and took us both out.

Platoon play takes some practice to be effective.
Communication among platoonmates are crucial for the success of the platoon.

Typically, I like to participate in platoon play with compensating vehicles types vs same or similar vehicle.
Lower tier (tier 3 premium) LT platoon with (tier 4/5) TD or SPG, LT scout out at choke point allow TD or SPG to provide direct/damaging fire without getting spotted.

Platoon of three (Russian) MTs with similar speed/bouncy turret armor, would move together in same sector of map, "wolfpack" and flank heavy armored enemy vehicle that has been singled out without enemy team support.

HT with troll armor platoon with glass cannon TD to hold choke point with solid cover during reloads.

Success of platoon highly depended on how well participants communicate with each other, coordinate advancement sector, designate target, reload time remaining, etc... effective platoon can easily turn the tide of battle, even as low tier tanks in battle.

I am learning to love it. That fast firing gun can tear them up. My highest damage points and most kills are now with the T-34.

I also went up to the T-34 85. Just upgraded to the 122mm cannon thought I didn't like the slow reload time and short view range, until last night when I parked near a TD that had some decent view range. He would spot the tanks and put one round into them, by then I was aimed well and would put some serious hurt on them and then he would reload and finish them off. We had 4 enemy come up to us one after the other. Pop, Boom, Pop your dead. I only got 1 kill in the game but had 2nd most damage.

He would spot the tanks and put one round into them, by then I was aimed well and would put some serious hurt on them and then he would reload and finish them off. We had 4 enemy come up to us one after the other. Pop, Boom, Pop your dead. I only got 1 kill in the game but had 2nd most damage.
Figured out what was taking so long with my reloads. I never trained my loader when I moved him up from another tank. Never noticed my loader was at 43% after playing the tank for almost a month. Spend some credits, train him up and things work much better. Now I've upgraded to the 85mm gun, haven't gone back to the 122 lately.

Still love the T-34.

I couldn't figure out the T-34/85. I think it's b/c I still was playing it like it had a fast firing gun.

Yeah it's got the armor of the level V T-34 with a slow firing gun. The 122 mm doesn't have enough penetration for a lot of tanks you come up against (ie tier VII and VIII), not much accuracy either. It is rather spectacular on the light tanks and open TD's though. The 85 mm has good penetration, but is still pretty slow to shoot.
