Building a Shed....

I am planning to build a shed, for keeping my bike stuff in, with a mini worktop with mini drill press and bench vice and my 3D printer etc.

I am bound by planning laws, I need to pay for planning permission, architects drawings, planning fee, processing fee, notify everyone within a certain radius so they can voice their objections have plans on display in the planning office and display a notice on my door, unless it's no more than three metres tall and 6metres square floor space, no closer than three metres to my next door's and no further than 150 metres from my primary dwelling ha.

So, anybody built a shed 2m x 3m x 3m? Got any plans? I have a good idea to freeball it but would appreciate any help as it will be only the second shed i've built "my previous one lasting 15 years"

Anybody got any experiance with battery powered "off grid" lighting / electrics? I'm thinking deep cycle marine batteries in a bank connected to a basic wind turbine with a basic voltage regulator etc. Wiring it up to my house legally woukd reguire me to dig a big ditch to run underground cabling with layers of buried tape warning of live electrics, and I kinda like the idea of being an off grid haven.

Ha, that's so bad it's inspired.

Well I already have four leveled sunk concrete pillars for the legs from my last shed, so I have a nice foundation to put the floor frame on, so I am doing better than him already!

I notice most people seem to have garages for their bike stuff, unfortunatly I do not so I have to make do with a shed.

I would break the law and build bigger, but the IDC (island development commitee) often fine people many thousands of pounds and tear down the structure as an example, we got enough problems from them when we replaced a window with non frosted glass because someone could see in 200ft away! (The trick was to buy frosted sheeting, stick it on, wait for the inspector to show up, and peel it off after he goes ) it's silly really. But i'd rather no grief.
