There are many ways in which performance gloves can come up short. Fit issues, pressure points and inadequate protection to name a few.

No such concerns with Alpinestars' latest GP Pro gloves. Developed with input from MotoGP racers Nicky Hayden and Carlos Checa, these gloves are exquisitely detailed from both styling and performance standpoints.

The GP Pros offer injection-molded thermoplastic knuckle protection with impact/abrasion resistance and airflow ventilation. Full-grain leather construction, Kevlar stitching and internal Schoeller Keprotec palms help ensure safety.

The unique wrist-flap reinforcements and internal Kevlar lining elevate the protection level. The wrist section incorporates perforated leather for cooling and a stylish little silver mesh vent in the wrap. A rubber GP Pro logo with padding adds protection to the back of the hand. There's also excellent palm protection with a slider incorporated. Alpinestars' patented third and fourth finger-bridge helps prevent finger roll and potential seam bursting during impacts.

These gloves sure look like they'll protect you should you need it. The MotoGP and World Superbike racers who wear them have proven time and again the protection level. Hopefully you won't need it, but it's nice to know it's there just the same.

Available in black, gray, blue and red in sizes S to 3XL, the GP Pros are comfortable and breathe well on long, hot street rides or that scorching day at the track.

Alpinestars didn't miss a trick on these.
