Freeze out gilet, glove liners, and balaclava. Commuting on the bike now and they are a must for the sub 40F mornings.

Nice, do you ride year round?

Thinking about buying a POV action cam for my bike/car once I save up enough. Those things cost a lot.

Look into the new Sena Action Cameras. They look very promising compared to GoPro or Drift.

Recent pickup:
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...size_chart_tab

After trying 3 different backprotectors. I settled on a Type ST/Size 12 Seesoft back protector. It's CE LV.2 and very comfortable, light, and flexible.
The size chart on RevZilla is very wrong. It stated Size 11 would be 420mm long. And it states Size 12 is 480mm long. The protector itself reads 420mm, which is the size I needed when I received the size 11. I definitely recommend that anyone who looks into backprotectors, look for something just about the size of your cheap foam insert that came with your jacket. Don't settle for something smaller just because it was recommended. The protector barely fits in my small A* jacket, but the coverage and feeling of safety are terrific.

they are amazing, fit is great and best part all the wear parts are replaceable! My A* boots are almost worn through the soles, these are pretty much the last boots i will have to buy.

Awesome! Looks like I'll be making my wallet sad again sometime soon.. haha
I only have a pair of FirstGear half boots, so I need something with full ankle protection.

I am going to try to ride year round, taking a bike to work is just a lot better mentally for me than the cage. Kinda liberates. The mornings are still a bit of a challenge even with new freeze out stuff. 30 minutes at sub 40F and 60-70 mph is just hard to overcome without heated gear.

Longjohns. And lots of them. K-Mart/Target/Walmart should sell them as "thermal leggings" and "thermal tops". Buy a few pairs at around $30 (total) and layer up! Will keep you really warm and won't bulk up. Balaclava or half-balaclava for neck warmth, and then use glove liners for your gloves. In a pinch I use one pair of longjohns and then use pajama pants tucked into my socks and slip on some jeans. Cheaper than heated gear, not as nice I suppose lol.

that's exactly what he has, minus the carbon version. It's a solid helmet though I personally don't like the style on the street, I feel like it's out of place even though it was designed specifically for the street.

So why not get a heated jacket liner or vest and a pair of heated gloves? (except for the cost, maybe...) Went for an hour ride this morning on the ninjette using that stuff.

That is the important piece right there, dont want to have to do any braking while pulling the trailer!

That makes sense. The coffee cans will look good when they get a bit of a patina (so you can't read the label). Or are there special covers?

It is a good looking truck!

Suppose I just haven't gotten to that point yet, up until recently I only road the bike for pleasure and if it wasn't 60+ and sunny, I was unlikely to ride. So all my gear and bits were warm nice weather stuff.

Since relocating back, I use the Ninjette for daily transportation and have to re-setup my gear for all weather conditions - and on a tight budget now . Luckily South Texas has a lot more sun and warmth throughout the year than the Midwest.

also sharky if you are in need of some good winter gear for cheap Jafrum.com has some great deals. i picked up a killer Powertrip rain jacket with all the pads there that is warmer then my leather jacket. it also has an insane ventilation system in it that is great for hot days and can even stay waterproof while the vents are open! it only cost me like 56$ shipped.

Just got my TCX X-Street riding boots! Not the most protection but they will do just fine for riding to meet someone for dinner. For highway riding, I have the TCX X-Cubed which offer more protection but not at the same level as the more technical boots.

Not specifically moto related but will be used with my moto gear so eh, its new anyway.

Since my Gerbing is undergoing surgery, I found that my Tourmaster isn't wind proof. Now, thanks to an REI clearance rack, I picked up this neat little jacket that will help retain the heat from the inner jacket and block the wind from the outer jacket.

Since my Gerbing is undergoing surgery, I found that my Tourmaster isn't wind proof. Now, thanks to an REI clearance rack, I picked up this neat little jacket that will help retain the heat from the inner jacket and block the wind from the outer jacket.
I need one of those, they're really warm comfortable. North-Face stuff is awesome but always way expensive.

Yeah, that's why i love the clearance rack. Makes life easier when trying to get the good stuff cheap. REI garage sales are the best.

I'm actually impressed with this jacket so far. On the ride into Reno I was cool but on the ride to Carson after buying it I was sweating. It takes me being very hot to get anywhere near sweating (dehydration is fun... Not) so the fact it was doing that well on its own makes me very excited about pairing it with the heated liner for ultra cold nights.
