I'm quitting riding

Between getting nearly killed every time I hit the freeway to having strangers seemingly obsessively telling me how dangerous it is to ride, I've decided to make the toughest decision of my life. Some of you may be upset, & some may be thinking it was bound to happen, but it's my decision and I'm sticking by it.
Back in May of this year, some lady hit me while I was riding... I should've quit then, but I kept going. Kept trying to convince myself that I'd be fine, but no more. I will no longer pretend to be invincible on a damn sport bike! Enough is enough!
I will definitely miss riding, but there's a point in a person's life when he has to choose if riding a 2-wheeled vehicle is worth it in a country where even being in a 4-wheeled vehicle can't save your f*cking life.

I'm glad I got to meet some of you fine folks, & I would definitely still like to hang out with those of you I've met.

With all of that said, I'm quitting riding... For tonight. I'll definitely be back on the saddle soon... Maybe tomorrow.
In the mean time, though, I hope you guys stay safe and one day realize what I realized today: motorcycling isn't for everyone, & sometimes it takes months and thousands of dollars wasted to realize you need to set your bike aside for the night and just ride it the next day.

What? Did you seriously think I was going to quit? F*ck no!

Haha, the thought of quitting passed my mind especially when I nearly get massacred like 4 times in a row by aholes (those are really sucky days 40mile commutes suck). But even then I still keep riding. Even after I low sided I wasn't fazed. Even when a stupid camry driver almost forced me off a bridge, sure I was angry, and I escaped the incident. I still can't stop riding. What can I say, I can't bring myself to stop.

Agreed @00NissanNinja

Even after I got hit my a car & laid out for a month, I hopped back on my bike within a week of being somewhat healed. I can't stop, but even if I could, I won't stop.

im the same way i realize the danger every time i let the bike warm up but its worth it to me. never have wrecked i have been hit by a car from behind at a stoplight by an old lady before but thats just not enough. as long as i am able to ride i will. now there will be times where i go a week without riding because im time crunched [when im in a hurry riding really stresses me out] but i would miss going out into winding country roads if i didnt so i keep on riding and love every minute of it!

I'd rather have the ability to ride a bike & then quit instead of never knowing if I'd even ever like it.

It's all about the risk / reward ratio. Yeah there's high risk, but the reward more than makes up for it.

I remember seeing the video below and thinking that the guy didn't think to hard about the risk / reward ratio of what he was about to do:

Link to original page on YouTube.

Guy 1: "Your not gonna try it?"
Guy 2: "Look at the penalty for failure dude."
Guy 3: "Yeah I'll try it."

... if only guy 3 took a few more moments to think about it!

He survived btw.

I quit for a few days when it turned cold. I just did not want to take the time for my bike to warm up in the morns before work. I had things to pack to work also.

So I left most of my riding to the afternoons.

I get home and I don't have to worry about picking up dog food or milk for the wife I just ride like the wind to be free again.

lol

I'd cry with laughter if you heard the guy shouting that stuff up from the bottom of the cliff with a really serious and angry tone.

Really shocking video though. When I first saw it, I assumed that he fell to his death. Imagine being one of his friends up on the cliff. You'd have a moment or 2 of disbelief... 'did that just happen??'
