body conversions???
im interested to know if a body conversion has been attempted on these new gen 250r's not like the lent automodified kit, but someone takeing a kit off another bike (ex. zx6r) and modified it to fit and got everything to work?(headlight, signals)
just wondering if its been done or if i should be a pioneer in doing this as i love my 250 but would like to "customize" it to look like the '07-'08 zx6r for better mounting points for a stunt cage/ sliders, eliminate need for flush mount signals, and to have 2 seperate headlights... Thanks

Any idea if the fairings are limited to the racing style (i.e. no area for headlight insertion)

Personally I want the Ducati kit found here....
http://www.jayarayamotor.com/ Find me a color in the House of Kolors catalog that matches Testor's Boyd's True Blue Pearl model paint. And give it a true 2 into 2 dual exhaust that looks like the old MotoGP 2-Stroke exhausts from the 80's and I'll be happy. |

Would that be painted or just primed like the pictures? Also do you know what the actual material is by chance?

800-900 for just a kit plus shipping would be a rediculous price for only one, group buys would be a better way to go but thing to remeber is that once it leaves in the crate witha couple other kits they can and prolly will fall over, mixing all the parts and possibly breaking them, so them whenever they get here parts would need 2 b gone through plus broken parts sent back, as well as unless each is to pay separate shippin again everyone would have to go to one location to pick up there kit.... good idea all in all and i would like to get one myself especially if they do a bit more work to the zx6r conversion front, in someways it just dont seem practical in the end cause it would cost alot more than we think by the time its all said and done
I know the idea of a group by was mentioned my me but i got to thinking about it and it just dosnt seem practical, if im overthinking something please let me know just as if there can me an assurance that the stuff i mentioned will not happen then we will be good to go

Just talked with the guy @ http://www.jayarayamotor.com/ He quoted me 570$ for the ducati conversion kit (unpainted) not including shipping...not bad at all, the cutout process on their end may not be top notch but it can easily be filed/sanded down. I may have to purchase a kit from these guys, though shipping might be a pain i think a 250 looking like a Ducati would be insane!
Edit: Deciding to take the plunge and order the Ducati kit next week once my paycheck is in...Will take pictures once I have everything in hand, but it will be a while before i can save up enough to have it custom painted to my specs |

Has there been any updates to the pricing/availability on these kits? I just got a job promotion and wanted to get Ninja a new dress.

that would be good, but im building a custom bike 250 frame 500 motor and zx6r type body, all set for stunt, so that i can basically replicate jason brittons 07-08 zx6r thats why i was wondering if anyone thought it would be worth trying 2 fit it to the new gen

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I'd be interested in something like this too for my 07 250. Went online looking for replacement fairing kits and literally can't find anything for pre-08 bikes

I'm putting newgen HotBodies race bodywork on 2003 pregen frame. Just have to re-create the mounting-points on frame.
1. Newgen tank needs rear-bracket to fit. Welded on support for bolt-on bridge. Also re-located petcock port on bottom of tank 2. weld on mounting-point for newgen instrument-cluster & fairing bracket 3. bracket near upper radiator corner for front-fairing 4. weld on rear support for newgen seat and side bolt-in bracket 5. weld on side support bracket for front of tail-section 6. bracket from fender to bottom of tail-section The race bodywork is easier to mount because it consolidates 5 different factory pieces into one. |
