I really wish that I had $8000 to spare so I could buy

this

1996 HONDA RVF 400
V-4 400cc Sport bike has under 6k miles and just had a tune up, new front and rear tires. Nice bike for someone under 6 ft and under 200 pounds very fast and fun bike.

And it is for sale locally (sigh)

The bike appears to be in great shape, rare for the age.

8 grand .. jesus, that seems very overpriced. You can get them hear for around 7-8 grand Aussie dollars. And just before people say "oh thats the same ...", heres a comparison, a new Ninja 250R here cost 7.5-8 grand, whereas over in the US they cost 3.5-5 grand.

The NC30 (vfr 400) was an amazing bike but unfortunately is almost a collectors item anymore due to its scarcity. You would have an easier time finding an vfr 750 from the same year in the US. By the way on EBAY last year there was a brand new still in crate NC30 that ended up being auctioned for over $30,000

Yeah, and it may be a bit high but only considering the state of the economy. They were never imported here and only grey imported to some countries outside of Japan.

So if you have a titled one, especially a clean low mileage one they are worth a bit.

My friend has two, one street one track and I have spent a fair amount of time on both (one with a Tyga full exhaust and some HRC bits) and they are really a lot of fun!

V4 360 degree crank, 15,000 RPM, that amazing sound!!

Wayyyyyy too much money for that bike! I'd put it at $6,000 on a good day. Heck, I picked up a beautiful 1985 RZ500 two-stroke recently for $6K. There are great deals out there.... just gotta find em.

Richard, I had one of each. Both bikes were fun to ride. I wish I still had them.
