Clutch Problem?
This morning, I found that the bike is pulling forward with the clutch lever fully depressed... tried adjusting the cable with the little screw adjuster on the handlebars without much luck, do I just need to adjust it even more?
any other causes of this? |

When it is cold it will do this sometimes. Mine will tug just the tiniest bit until it is warmed up. If you have your rear on a stand you will even notice that if you start the bike in neutral is will slowly spin the wheel. If you clutch cable is properly adjusted I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yup. This is normal. You can also feel it a little if you start your bike in gear. It doesn't hurt to double check, though. See how it is when it's all warmed up.
If you're curious as to why, it's because of the wet clutch system. The oil acts like a fluid coupling between the clutch plates, since it is of relatively high viscosity especially when the oil is cool. When one plate starts moving, it spins the oil, which in a free system, would cause the other plate to move. If you're sitting, it will just feel like it wants to go forward instead. |
