For someone who posts as much as he does, I'm surprised to see that Sean mouse-wheels up and down the page instead of using Home/End and Page Up/Page Down. Also could've been a bit more efficient by typing in the Quick Reply box and hitting "Go Advanced" to preview the post.

Generally I just hit the little arrow that takes you to the new posts. Also hitting the end button requires moving my hand, I'm too lazy for that

Minor setback. We were bumped to the top of the second page. Which is a shame, as our ninja 300 forum areas are continuing to get growing traffic.

what you want is links in from other sites that reference the keyword, then reference this site directly when talking about the keyword. that is the largest contributor to an individual keyword based page rank. even if something is contextually the best match, it wont come up first if it has a low page rank.

Harumph. Back to page 5 or 6 on the search results. The site backed by the motorcycle.com group has managed to take over the majority of the first couple pages. Alrighty my ninjette web warriors, how do we regain our rightful place? To the internet!

You guys could just keep making good content, mods, threads, etc related to the ninja 300 and hope the 300 forum prospers because of that.

Or you could keep trying to mess around with keywords and links

The good thing is those options aren't mutually exclusive. Traffic drives content; content drives traffic, it's a nice little symbiotic internet circle of life.

OK, I made a few mentions on another forum. Did my part.

Now, how do they get away with calling themselves the "world's largest Ninja 300 forum" anyway?

Back to the top of page 2. This is apparently quite dynamic.

Alex, I noticed that you made another ride report thread yesterday. That might be good to keep doing.

Ride reports. So I can read them and drool at your pictures. They'll boost traffic.

What exact term are you querying with?

Anyway, if the G-men pay such close attention to G-plus pluses, then perhaps we should also make sure that all of our relevant videos uploaded to their other site have a a reference and link to the forums.

I just did a bunch of mine and I'm working on more.

Edit: WOW! I don't know if it is or isn't affecting search results but only an hour after I made a pointer to this forum a new user signed up and messaged me about my friend's strange electrical problem on Youtube (pregen engine would rev when the brake was used). It does drive traffic here.

Don't forget google search results are location dependent.

Here Ninja 300 forum is fifth and Ninja 250 first.

You need to get some buddies with 300s on the site. Do they sell the 300 there?

They don't stock them, but anything you can get in Europe I can get shipped here, and cheaper as we don't pay any sales tax, cheaper

I can't see them being popular here as they are too big to take your Compulsary Basic Training CBT on.

250 is the biggest you can use due to historically in the 70's 250 two strokes were the default getabout for young riders, if you can't take it on a 300 and have to borrow another bike you may as well buy a 650 as they are not much more and take the CBT on a smaller bike.
