I've seen fuel injected bikes with full systems blow flames on youtube. I'm pretty sure that if a 250 can do it, a 300 can do it as well.

Exhibit A, a fuel injected bike with better flames than that 250:

okay I have the aftermarket exhaust.
tune the fuel rich means I have use Power comander?
does applying an aftermarket open air filter leave the kleen air system? if not how to do so?

cheers

power commander will work
usually you remove the kleen air system when you use pod filters.
not sure if works right without the airbox.

I see. Does this kind of setting mess up the engine or performance mate?

i would block off the kleen air system with a plate.
then get the afr tuned to 12.5,
it'll be just fine, and you have a little more power.

air fuel ratio, the power commander will help you tune it.
not sure if the new factory ecu is tunable, have not gotten a hold of one yet.

Unfortunetly some Dyno operators do this to distort the numbers, as well as not wanting to take the time (or knowing how) to hook up the tach leads to the ECU, The runs were probably done in 3rd gear, when they are normally done in 5th (on the Dyno, 5th is approximately 92 mph on a 250, 97 mph on a 300). They also use the "STD" correction factor which reads approximately 4% higher than the industry accepted standard of SAE.

I'll tell you what; I'll take the stupid pos off your hands. All you have to do is ride it to Ohio. I'll even do it for free because I'm a nice guy. How's that sound?

Does it idle smoothly? What do you have your idle set at after the bike is warmed up?

Yikes! How many miles do you have on it? Did you do the first oil change yet? I'm scared...

When I start mine up in the morning or when cold it will be idling at 2000 then after 2-3 mins it drops down to 1500.

I haven't had any trouble yet. But at only 170 miles so far. First oil change done at 150 miles for me.

Word on the street is that a fuel controller fixes that. No idea why it has to do that in the first place.

Weird. Certainly shouldn't be necessary to add a fuel controller to fix the issue, but interesting that it fixes it for some. For what it's worth, my bike doesn't do this.

on the 250 (carbed) there is a little spindle on the side of the carbs that insures it doesn't die when revved and then cut to idle. maybe there is an electronic version on the 300 that is not doing its job correctly? maybe jiggles doesn't know how to pull in a clutch? the kill switch is not a proper clutch, sean.

I have logged 2300 miles, 55 mpg overall and 53 mpg on last tank, no hint of a problem.

I feel bad for you all having stall issues.

edit: fat fingered my last tank fill

Well it didn't do it that much before but lately it's almost everytime the clutch is pulled which is incredibly annoying trying to teach my Gf how to ride and dies everytime she tries to shift.

I might take it to the dealer
