[faster and faster] - 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R unveiled: Official high-res pics, te

Revised styling, 200 horsepower and even more advanced electronics - the 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R is ready to rock!

Kawasaki have unveiled the new, 2016-spec Ninja ZX-10R, which has been developed in close cooperation with Kawasaki's World Superbikes racing team, with inputs from Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes. According to Kawasaki, the new ZX-10R "is the closest it is possible for a road going Ninja to be to the machines that have dominated numerous WSBK races and Superpoles in recent years."

In addition to revised styling, the new 10R has been updated with chassis, engine and electronics upgrades. Major changes include the adoption of Brembo M50 monobloc brake calipers, Brembo radial pump master cylinder and WSBK-style Showa front forks. The new ZX-10R Ninja is also the first Kawasaki to feature an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) as part of its electronic rider aid package, which uses five axis measurements in its Bosch IMU and a sixth measurement using a unique Kawasaki programme stored in the bike's ECU. With this, the 2016 ZX-10R now has one of the best traction control, launch control, engine power selection modes and high precision brake management systems in the world, allowing rides to push harder than ever when riding close to the absolute limit.

With 200 horsepower from its inline-four engine, the new Kawasaki 10R is now Euro 4 emissions compliant, boasts a stronger mid-range and benefits from a crankshaft with 20% less inertia than the outgoing model. "As a collaboration between the Kawasaki Racing Team and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, this is a machine to be proud of," says Yoshimoto Matsuda, project leader for the 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R. "The 2016 Ninja proves that a fast race bike can create a responsive road bike that is easy to ride. Already we have a double championship winning design, now we’ve refined it further still to reflect Kawasaki’s enduring Ninja spirit," he adds.
