Cheapest price I've seen for the touch up pens has been on Ebay.

I purchased the "pens" for the 2009 N-250 sunbeam red prior to any scratches. So it is now in my arsenal of accessories. 1 Pen - Sunbeam Red Paint 1 Pen - Primer and 1 Pen - Clearcoat. Good to go in case of an unfortunate stone chip, etc. etc. These where purchased online from Color Rite. Was recommended by my dealer and seems to be the only paint manufacturer that has the exact matches for many types of Motorcycle Paints.

Thats why were all here Keep us posted. I know its matched paint so there isnt any question about the color or quality. I'd just like to see how well you do fixing the scratch. Let us know of any problems or difficulties you run into during the process. Heck...if you have a camera and some time to donate, take some pics. I dont think we have a DIY on that yet

The one i bought from colorite was hard to use for scratches. It's like a highlighter. The tip is that big and wide. The paint was an exact match. I guess what you can do is buy a very fine brush and use the paint from the highlighter and try to touch up the scratches.

I was thinking that it looked kind of a pain to use. I was looking at the 2oz bottle or 11oz aerosol can because I have quite a bit of touching up to do ):
as for colorite? they got the color right (ha, laughed outloud when i typed that, didn't realize it) no problems? what do u think of the price relative to anywhere else youve looked?

It's a little over priced but I'd rather pay a little extra to get a perfect match.
That's just me. If I remember correctly, I paid around $26 for that danm highlighter that I didn't even use. |

trueee
with these prices i may as well buy a new fairing, but the paint i can atleast use multiple times on different fenders. after i drop it again i'll decide what im doin, i just cant stand to look at unsightly scratches

Touch up paint merely masks your scratches and keeps metal from rusting (moot with non-metal fairings). It isn't gonna make it look like it used to. Have everything buffed out if you want it like new. Not too expensive. Scratches are like scars: they add character . They have a story, sometimes interesting that accompany them. For example, I have a tiny scratch on my front fender on my car. A gator (see shreded tire) bounced off my car there, while I was driving down the road at probably 35mph. Scared the S out of me. I thought I hit a dog. I could feel exactly where it hit though, oddly enough. Iit was kicked up by the car in front of me and yeah... Okay not so thrilling of a story, but you get the idea =P
