Throttle Cable Housing

Just installed new throttle cables. Is the little metal nub (cable on right) supposed to stay outside of the housing, or there a place inside the switch housing it goes into?

.,

It should go all the way inside with a snug fit.

You should regulate the length of that cable with the adjuster that is close to the carb.
