New all over again.

I joined a few years back after picking up an 07 (previously had an 04 as well), but just picked up an 09 yesterday. Looks good overall, but needs some love. I already have new tires, stock kickstand, and stock dog bones ordered to replace the OEM worn and dry rotted tires and modified kickstand/adjustable links from a previous short rider. Needs a thorough cleaning and the carbs need to be cleaned as well which shouldn't be to bad when I get some time.

Cool. I see why you're working on the side stand. The old Kaw triples tend to have that problem too. Most photos you see of them have a brick or 2x4 under the foot of the stand.

Very easy fix. One hour if you have four thumbs. My Honda Ascot had the opposite problem. A mild breeze could have blown it over.

My 07 ZX6R was that way, I think I put a ZZR kickstand on IIRC...

There are several solution for the triples. The quick one is to put a KH400 stand on an H1 or H2, because they're longer. After putting longer rear shocks on my H2, I opted to weld an extension in.

Yes, that's what I would do also. Easy fix if you have a welder.

Believe it or not it is filthy in this pic. The guy had a gravel/dirt driveway in Hazard, KY. It will be thoroughly washed/degreased before reassembly once I install the new tires.

Nice! Looks like you already found that time to tear things down
I'm in the market for a 250. Although, I wouldn't turn down a pre-'08 model if priced right, I really dig the sportier look of the '08+ models. I like the all-black look too.

Yeah, tires should be in tomorrow or the next day and then I'll get those on and roll her outside for a wash. You are on the wrong coast or I'd make you a deal I love these little guys but kind of want FI like my last R3 or the Ninja 300...love not worrying about jetting

Seriously though, looking forward to running her up and down the mountains.

Thanks. I would most likely go with a Hindle full system though should I go that route (I'm a distributor of Woodcraft and Vortex) since I'd get a good deal, but it still wouldn't be as cheap as you pulled that off.

yeah, i bought a used savage 650 a couple years ago. I got it just because i wanted a bike with a carb to wrench/learn on. Never found the time for it and sold it off. So I still need to dip my toe into the carb world.

Them mountain twisties should be really nice with them new tires.

I've done the same man, picked up project bikes and never got around to them and sold them off. I have a Triumph Daytona 675 with an electrical issue I may finally give up on due to the time restraint...I have everything good except the injectors aren't firing. If I directly connect the battery to the leads, they fire...so probably a bad ground in harness...what a nightmare...

As for the mountains, sadly it'll have to wait until spring as they have leaves on the road now and should be getting salt spray soon enough. I'll still go tool around on the back roads by the house.
