[Q] Clip On`s

Why do we need clip on on our bike ? what purpose do they solve ?

I did try to search but coming up with very mixed results so thought let me ask the folks out here

clips-ons lower the bars and move them forward. this results in a "sportier" riding position somewhat similar to that of the supersports (zx6, gsxr, r6, cbr600, etc). for our ninjas, it also stretches you out a little more due to the longer, lower reach to the bars. many have found that this is more comfortable when in the "tuck" position.

The main reason I would use aftermarket clip-ons is that the bars are easily replaceable. When you crash and bend or break a bar it is a quick fix to slide in a new bar with most of the aftermarket clip-ons.

Craig. You and clip ons do not belong in the same sentence unless followed by clip ons are follow by the word suck.
