Idle air mixture initial settings?

Can anyone tell me what the service manual says to set the idle air screws at on an '04? One manual that I looked at said that both sides are different and around 1 3/4 ish, while the ninja250.org adjustment page says start at 2 1/2? I know 2 1/2 is a generic setting to start with, was just wondering if there was something more official? I'm not sure if the service manual that I was looking at was the correct one for this '04.

I'd disregard presets....either bench or manometer synch first....I'd suggest a 2 1/2 start point, get the bike running, up to normal temp....a good 10-15 minute ride. Get home...while *hot and still running* set each side for the "sweet spot"....highest RPM and best throttle response.

...but its a hot, dangerous job, gloves, a towel draped over engine to avoid burnt hands....whatever it takes to protect yourself.
A small, short, drill bit type fitting or small screwdriver (modded to fit as necessary) in your fingertips to turn the respective pilot screw inward (that cylinder should stumble) then back out till RPM raises to reveal best running and response to throttle. BOTH sides...all the while the engine hot and running.

In a shop setting, a large cooling fan pointed to front of bike (radiator)will aid you somewhat.

Be careful, its a hot, nasty job but great response should reward you, provided you nail it.
