shock ratio?

Has anyone measured or calculated the ratio of rear wheel movement to shock movement? I came up with ~2.9 without any real measurements of the swingarm or linkage.

So in case anyone is wondering, I measured the shock ratio at 2.1:1. This is over the 3" of travel from the most extended position. The ratio seemed pretty linear over this range as best I could tell.

How did you measure? Seems ratio changes with angle of knuckle.

Measured wheel movement from ground and shock length at a few points, using a MM ruler. I didnt have enough room to use my dial calipers for the shock length.

Interesting. I suppose with enough data points, we can plot a graph.

Ratio would actually be rate-of-change of position, so we would need to integrate twice.
