My rear right turn signal decided that it didn't want to work anymore. After going to Autozone, Advance, O'Riley and Pep Boys, I ended up going to the dealership. The rear turn signals are not an 1156 base. They are some funky R10YW base with offset posts.

After doing a little looking, it looks like the BAU15s will fit if you want to go LED. Not 100% though, gonna order it to find out.

Well, got the LED replacement bulbs in and the BAU15s base is the right one. They fit, but I guess the turn signal system on this bike is temperamental and requires a specific ohm load to make the relays work correctly and the LED's don't provide the right load. I am going to do some work this weekend to see wth is up so if anyone wants to do an LED conversion they'll know what else they'll need to buy.

Oh, right now Kawasaki is about 1 week behind on getting the lights out to their dealers so try not to break any bulbs.

Three-prong Tridon EP34 relay at any auto parts store. The extra prong needs to be grounded to the frame somewhere. What you describe is the case for pretty much any OEM incandescent to LED conversion. OEMs almost always use thermal flashers. You need resistors or the LED flasher or wire them in simultaneously with the original blinkers.

Thanks.

Went and got the relay and tried to wire it in but I must have something wrong because I now have 0 turn signals.

Edit:

Went over to a friends place and I did everything right, but the relay was either bad, or not the right one but we switched out for an EP35, double checked the wires and it's nice and bright now. FYI, if you want to install an EP34/35 relay, you'll have to switch the cables around in the stock connector and of course add in a ground.
