Carrying a gun while riding

I know many of you live in "The People Republic of California", but for those of us that can arm ourselves how do you carry?

I currently carry an M&P 9mm with TLR-3 in a Kaluban Cloak. My issue with this setup is that it has no active retention. I was debating a Serpa, just for when I'm riding. I was also thinking I could just throw it in a tank bag while I'm riding and continuing to use my current holster.

Comments, opinions?

I carry a Taurus PT 709 slim in a pancake holster. The jacket covers it and it doesnt blow up while riding exposing the gun. Sometimes I just put it in the zipper pockets of the inside of the jacket since it isn't that big.

I too also have the same gun you have M&P 9mm and the same flashlight but I use the light for my M4. Have you tried a shoulder holster to see if you like it? It can be easily concealed over the jacket and still readily accessible, just hope it doesn't bother you while riding.

I carry a Smith & Wesson Sigma SW40VE and use a Fobus Paddle Holster. It locks the trigger guard in well enough that there is little worry that it will fall out. It does stick out just a little, which causes it to pop out from my jacket, but I have my CPL and open carry is also legal in Michigan, so thats ok with me.
