Where is the fuel switch? Why do I need to use it?

Greetings & Salutations!

No fuel switch, petcock is vacuum-operated. When engine cranks, it generates enough vacuum in carbs to turn on petcock.

I'd say you did ok. As far as the fuel switch, are you looking at the petcock switch? Goes from "off" to "reserve" or "run?"

Thanks, and yes the petcock I have since then got a better understanding of, by getting my hands a little dirty. Thank you though
