Tailgating Motorcyclist Crashes his R1

AKIMA VIDEO SPAM!! (^-^) too much yet?

Link to original page on YouTube.

I think that rider needs to upgrade to a ninjette and take a riding course.

Doesn't look like tail gating lol. Regardless that car shouldn't have brake checked someone on a motorcycle...

I think the car reacted to that red/white stop-sign looking thing right on the left. It appears to be a do-not-enter sign, but it may have surprised the car they way they nailed the brakes to try and stop right there. I don't think it was an intentional attempt to brake check the motorcyclist.

If -- in dry weather, on a high-tech, ABS enabled, twin disk, supersport -- the rider didn't have enough time to stop when the cager in front suddenly braked then it was tail gating.

If the car did indeed brake check then that's wrong... but the rider had complete control over that situation and his crash was completely unnecessary.

ya now that i see his left signal, it looks like he tried turning left then realized he couldn't get in or it was the wrong turn lol. Biker got frightened, to much front brake, and ends up eating asphalt. Sucks

FWIW, ABS isn't available on an R1 yet.

Agreed! If you can't brake enough to stop before you hit the vehicle infront regardless of eithers braking technology you're too close, two second rule people, always stay at a distance where it takes at least two seconds for you to ocupy the space the person infront of you was in.

He was too close and not paying attention. The car touched the brakes because of something with the construction or what ever. The bike started breaking much later. And the rear wheel went up as the front tire washed out.

I do my best to keep at least two seconds of space, but many times I find that other motorists will see that as room to move over and cut me off which forces me to slow down some more.

Don't let anyone get in front of you! Keep that space minimal so they can't merge

Let's blame the bicycle guy and the sand on the street from the construction site.

Makes GSXR riders look good. Those R1 guys are nuts.

Brake check and leaving the scene of an accident involving a douche bag.
