Two days at NJMP

Did a two day event with triumph675.net -- first day at Lightening, and second at Thunderbolt. What a blast. Lightening is a good time, because it's an easy track to learn. But Thunderbolt -- WOW. Technical and challenging, it's so rewarding when you get it right.

My buddy followed me to get a few laps on his gopro. I'm on my GSX650F, and he's on his Daytona 675. First lap is our out lap, so we're chilling a bit, but then we pick up the pace. Awesome track, great couple of days.

That first vid was Thunderbolt. Here's a session from Lightening, again shot by my buddy on the Daytona. I'm in front of him for several laps at the beginning.

Haha, well it's not like I was looking back to see how close he was, lol.

But yeah, especially on Thunderbolt, the crazy right into that long-ass left (the lightbulb) are REALLY hard, and working with the coaches, I finally found a great line through it, which my buddy didn't. And when you find the line, it basically starts your straightaway 3 'turns' early, because you can go WOT through them. So even though he's got 30hp on me (and minus 100lbs!), when I started hitting that line, he didn't have enough straightaway to catch me.

I was having a freaking blast, though. And it was actually a great lesson, for both of us, on the importance of having a good line.

Yup. I was there for a triumph675.net day, but it was jointly sponsored by TPM. And I can't say anything bad about them. Man, compared to N2/Nesba (who I do, in fact, like), TPM is a well-oiled machine. Every session went out on time. After the rare crash, they got us right back on schedule. Those guys were awesome. And the coaches were fantastic. I think I learned almost as much from Omar in two or three sessions as I did in my previous two or three track days.

Hmmm. Let me know when you pick out your Shenny days. My buddy and I are planning one more track day for the year, and it will probably be Shenny. We're N2 members, but would maybe look at TPM if the price wasn't too bad...

Edit: Oops, strike that. Just saw you were talking about next season. We'll probably just hit up one of the Shenny days with N2 at the end of September.

I rolled my NESBA elite member to TPM Full Throttle Membership. The perks are pretty good. Every track day is essentially 150$. If you do consecutive track days, you get 20$ off. So a track weekend at Summit, NCBIKE, NJMP, Barber, Road Atlanta, etc., is 280$.

The only thing that N2 has on TPM is thier cancellation policy with the elite membership, which is you can cancel at anytime before 9AM. That is badass. Right now, due to the financial mishaps of last year, they cant really offer any good prices for track days, but I have a feeling they will be back.

That being said. TPM paddock> N2 paddock.

Also, Im riding NJMP Lightning this weekend. Paid 200$. Paid 99$ for Saturday at Shenny.

See yall out there.

I could totally do a day at the end of september, just hit me up when you decide on which day (and which org) and I'll see if I can make it out or not. Otherwise I'll be waiting for next season

Yes its with TPM. I cant answer how the coaching is though. I honestly dont know.

As for N2 though, their coaching is great, assuming you can get time with someone. N2 guys are fast, across the board. If you wait to get a legitimate bump from one of the CRs to intermediate, you'll easily be one of the fastest guys within intermediate and be riding front pack intermediate in a lot of different orgs.

that sounds like exactly the type of coaching I want

looking into it I may do the N2 track days at shenandoah on the 27th-28th
depends on how my wallet is feeling and if I'm itching for it enough by mid september though
