What's your scariest bug story????

A month or 2 ago I had a snot yellow splat right on my shield blocking my view. IDK what I hit but it was huge. I almost think it was one of those big Dragonflys. I never got the autopsy report :/ LOL

A couple of months ago, I had a little spider crawling all over my face while I was doing 80 mph in the highway.

I could hold the tickling until I got off at the next exit and removed the helmet.

I found out later that these little spiders live on a tree under which I park my bike.
The poor creature may have fallen from the tree and have been walking on the gas tank when I placed my helmet there just before leaving.

Since there, I always check inside the helmet before putting it on.

I once took a swig out of a beer can that a slug had crawled into.

If that don't scare you, nothing will.

What are those huge cockroach looking things that fly in Florida? I tried to kill one by stepping on it....it walked away after my foot stomp and I think it gave me the finger.

Had about an inch long moth in my helmet for about a 10 minute walking between my ear and my hair the entire time. I wasn't able to smash it while rding so I let it go after I reached my destination. I'm not too squirmy when it comes to bugs but the feet and flapping of its wings every once in a while was one of the most disgusting feelings I've ever had.

Worst one was when I was hit in the neck by butterfly while I was driving about 60 MPH. It took a couple of weeks before my body didn't try to close my eyes as a reflex every time I saw one while riding :/

Never had any on the bike.

Once I was riding in the work truck and had one fly up my nostril. It began buzzing around in there, climbing up into my nasal cavity and kinda felt like it was biting. It was actually kinda hard to get out. My nose felt terrible for some hours after that. Then later on the rest of the bug came out. I was pretty grossed out that day.

The other time I was drinking an Arizona when a bee flew into the can. I didn't see it and took a huge swig. I thought "man, this drink tastes crunchy...drinks aren't supposed to be crunchy...". Next thing I know there's a bee hanging from my upper lip by its stinger. Bastard!

How about picking up a soda can and as you are beginning to swig, the redneck beside you asks if anyone has seen his spit cup. Pro Tip(tm): always inhale thru your nose as you touch the can to your lips.

omg i was riding home today after eating breakfast and i was going 60mph down the highway when all of a sudden i got hit by two things. one bounced off my shoulder and i had no clue what it was. the second i thought got stuck on the OUTSIDE of my helmet in my peripherals (a mushed bug perhaps?)..only to find out no it was a wasp and it was very much alive..and INSIDE MY SHIELD! I had to ride with it inside because I didn't want to open my visor and have it fly into my eye or something, so I gunned past an 18wheeler and then pulled over and let it out. I thought for sure I was going to get stung!!

My scariest story involves a yellow-jacket and my face! I was riding on the stretch of Hwy 129 known as The Dragon in Deals Gap. In the middle of a very technical corner, a yellow jacket somehow made its way INTO my helmet. Lucky as hell that I reacted calmly by lifting my faceshield and turning my head to the side. Also lucky as hell he flew out and I made the corner. If only Killboy had caught that one!

Edit: Rahul, your story made me SHUDDER! I've had a similar situation where I thought it was on the outside, reached up to brush it away, and found out nope, he's in there with me. SUCKS!!

not really a bug story. I hadn't been riding long (still really haven't lol) when i left my buddies house one night. decided to try and find a comfortable tucked position for the ride home and think god i did because almost as soon as i got my head down below the windshield a freaking bat smacked right dab into the middle of it and proceeded top fly above my head. if i would have been up i could only imagine where he would have landed 0.o

i have no clue how those buggers get in!! it's like, if you think about it, that's some crazy probability too. First they have to be in that exact spot at that exact time to be in your way, then they have to fly in at the precise area of your helmet to get in..all while not getting splattered. my hat's off for that wasp, and yours too lol

Wasps, particularly red ones, scare me, as I am allergic to bee/wasp stings. Got hit in the eye by a wasp while riding in my sister's jeep & my face was swollen for a long time...still have a scar from it.

you might want to carry some benadryl and an epipen, in your jacket pocket.

i just lost a friend due to an allergic reaction from bees...
severe allergic reactions are no joke...

Heh..."squidded" today due to the heat...wore my gear, just no jacket.
On the way home, a wasp hit me in the bicep, then it started pouring down rain. The rain drops hurt about as much as the wasp hitting me, though the coolness the rain brought was welcoming.

Years ago when I first started ridng I got hit in the face by a bumblebee at about 60 mph . I had an open face helmet then but after that I switched to full coverage and stayed with full coverage helmets ever since. Lesson learned the hard way.

i got hit today again by some type of massive bugs and even through my textile jacket, they really stung! I think one of them got stuck on my jacket too so i had to reach over, grab it, and throw it off..kind of gross, i didnt look at it but it felt rather large!
