2012 TTP Racing 250 Challenge

Good morning everyone,

I was suggested to register and become a member to your forum. So new to the site.

We have been in the works for awhile now on a racing event for the 250's. We have partnered up with Brian Bartlows FLAP program.

Heres the details on the racing...

If you aren't a racer and would only like to do a trackday, we have an option for you. Riders can ride the track on Saturday while watching their friends races on Sunday. All riders will receive lap timers and 20 minute sessions through out the day at a cost of $110 dollars.

If you have questions please feel free to ask in this thread..

We also have a "Open Street Class" for riders who have never raced but have done plenty of track days.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBN1CfxU858

How it would work is, we would certify you Saturday day and you would choose to either race the Endurance or the Sprint racing with other track day riders. We will post your lap times all day Saturday and grid you with other riders with similar lap times on Sunday. The idea is so that its evenly matched so its a good race.

Here is what you will learn in the 1 day class.

About the Certification:

School Specifics

Each classroom lecture will cover one specific riding technique. The lecture is then followed up by a live track session to try out and work on the information covered in the classroom while it is still fresh in the students mind.

Students ride their own motorcycles. This will allow students a machine that he or she is familiar with.

About The Track Sessions

There are several track side instructors /observers available to give pointers and critiques about your riding. The instructors will be lined up on pit road when the students come out of the classroom. We realize not all students will come to the school at the same level of talent or skill level. There are instructors designated to ride at different skill levels. In this way there will be and instructor available for the hot shoe, the intermediate and the conservative student.

The track sessions are actually specific exercises. The student is instructed to concentrate and work on the technique covered in the classroom. This way the student can learn the technique while is still fresh in his mind. If the student comes out on the track and works on his own agenda, he will miss the point of the school. Each technique covered will build on the previous technique with each one getting more and more advanced.

Base curriculum coverage

Basic race lines

Advanced and Alternate race lines

Overall gearing

Shifting

Crash avoidance

Precise steering techniques

Standard braking techniques

Trail braking techniques

Knee dragging & body position

Steering feedback

Visual reference points

Motorcycle dynamics

Walking the track

Flags

Warm-up laps & Griding

Correct sir, it is in Reno.. Reno Fernley RaceTrack. Unfortunately we had to hold it on MotoGp weekend as this was the only weekend that didnt conflict with Masters of the Mountain and AFM. With Bartlow bringing up his rig we had to make sure it was a race weekend that would work for those riders..

Sorry,

We do have one more round August 25th-26th though..

Reminding everyone,

That there is an option for the Saturday Endurance Race with Lemans Start for the 250's as well.

• All riders have three options for race set-up. No matter the option selected TTP is only allowing 2 riders max per team. Riders may not compete on more than one team.

The options available are:

**Option 1**
2 riders/2 bikes
• Bikes must be within the same class breakdown in order to race without penalty
• (Riders may run mixed match CC displacements, but will receive a 2 lap penalty starting out)

o Class Breakdown is as follows:
􏰀 Lightweight class displacement categories are 125CC – 650CC
􏰀 Middleweight class displacement categories are 651CC – 751CC
(Ducati 748 – 749 allowed)
􏰀 Heavyweight class displacement categories are 751CC – Open CC
􏰀 Twins 650 Class displacement categories are 501CC – 650CC

**Option 2**

2 riders/1 bike

**Option 3**
1 rider/1 bike
IRONMAN

As the entries come in we will group you in the appropriate classes. In doing some research, we did find that the 250's were running similar lap times as the big bikes on RFR's C course.

The $300 gets you Saturday Practice, Qualifying, 2 races (heat race & your main race event), and Saturday Lunch.

Its alot of time on the track for the price..

Would be great to see a new face at this event, we get alot of trackday riders for this "Open Street Class." Its very unique and something we offer that no one else has truly perfected. We provide the lap timer for you and the basic race certification. You run in your own class, and will be gridded based upon your skill level by lap times. FLAP has all of their bikes rented out for our race weekend and I believe Brian has recruited a few other 250's in addition to his group.

This is a video 4theriders did for us showing you a basic overview of it.

If you are an unlicensed racer and we need to certify you, schedule is slightly modified which we announce at the riders meet, as instead of suiting up and going on track at 9am, you would report to the classroom.

Open Street Class Schedule would go something like this..

Saturday
7:00am- Registration
7:30am- Tech Opens for Bikes
8:30am- Riders Meet
9:00am- Non Licensed Riders go to class. Classroom/track practice
12:00pm- Lunch
1:00pm- "Qualifying" for racers
1:20pm- Track Day sessions resume
3:40pm- Endurance Riders meeting
4:00pm- Endurance Race

Sunday
7:00am- Registration
7:30am- Tech Opens for Bikes
8:30am- Riders Meet
9:00am- Practice session for all racers
9:30am- Open Street Class practice grid starts
10:00am- Heat Races
12:00pm- Lunch
1:00pm- "Main Event Race" for both classes begin
3:45pm- "Da$h 4 Ca$h Race"
4:00pm- Podium Ceremony provided by Boulevard Pizza

Thanks to Brian Bartlow coordinating with us,

Our July Race will feature an additional cash race for the 250 guys as well. It is an additional $50 dollars (rider must pay in cash) as all the money in the pot (from the racers), goes back to the riders in cash that day.

Payouts through 6th place.

1st- $300
2nd- $200
3rd-$150
4th-$50
5th- Pirelli Gift Certificate
6th- Pirelli Gift Certificate
(All monies are based off riders entry, the greater the entries, the further down the payout will reach.) With the amount of 250's entering this class, there could be a payout as far down as 10th place.

Gridding for this race will be based off your last lap time in your main race event.

Lemans Race start is for the Endurance race. It was really fun watching the teams put together a strategy. One guy was holding the bike while his teammate ran to it. Was so cool to watch.

You 250 riders need to contact Brian Bartlow, he has a link for discounted pricing for the 250 class. The discount is good for any 250 rider.

Contact bbartlow@aol.com

OR

Neil, I would be open to something like this, but we need the key relationships with racers to get other racers to support it. I can provide the race platform including timing for all bikes such as what we have done for these track day riders, but what I cant do is cultivate the relationships. I would need help with this. We have never been to that market. This could be something we could talk about for the 2013 season. Stay in touch with me!!

I have bikes for you guys, just fly in. This is the best way to race out of state for you guys. Just think even the rental, flight and entries are still cheaper then a 600cc race weekend where you live. lets do this

Our race event is just 3 weeks away my friends, I know this conflicts with MOTOGP weekend, but for those of you who are considering our weekend, at the least come out for our Saturday trackday for $110 bucks. We provide free lap timing, if you are comfortable with the lap times you are turning then we will credit your $110 towards your $275 race entry. Remember we only place you in our track day (Open Street Class), in which you are gridded with other riders with similar lap times.

For you licensed racers its standard grid placement like any other race.

We are 3 weeks out on our race event (July 28th-29th).. who needs a racer certification through us that doesn't already have one that plans on racing our Endurance or Sprint race event with other track day riders?

(This class is specifically design for track day riders only and is separate from the other licensed racers such as WERA, AFM etc..)

I am asking as I would like to put you in contact with our instructors and get you all planned out before the July round.

2 weeks before the event, July 28th-29th weekend, we will have giveaways such as Pirelli Clicks, Powercommanders, GoPro cameras.

Get your entry fee in before the event, pricing goes up 3 days before the event.

Would love to see a few of you guys racing the 250 class.

TTP Races for July Canceled due to Track Damage

Not sure if anyone has seen this, which was posted on our website and facebook page on Wednesday.

To all our valued racers and trackday riders,

We regret to inform you that due to inclement weather we are forced to reschedule this race event. Due to back to back heavy rain storms, flooding has damaged a good portion of the track. The officials at Reno Fernley Racetrack are working diligently to put it back together. The storms (flash floods) have brought damage to turns 2,3,4 & 5, which has created an unsafe race environment in the event a rider ends up off course. RFR has assured us the track will be repaired, but not in time for our race round. We are an unfortunate victim to the damage that has occurred by mother nature.

As per our rule book on refund policies, we will not issue refunds but rather apply racer and track day funds to the next race event, which in this case will take place August 25th-26th. We will reschedule a second date shortly to make up for this July date, please stay tuned. And again we are sorry for the cancelation, there was simply not another configuration we could run that would allow this event to move forward as this damage affects both configurations all riders are familiar with.
3.2 WEATHER CONDITIONS –
Events may be run irrespective of weather conditions.
3.2.1 No refund or credit of entry fees will be considered as a result of inclement weather. ONLY RESCHEDULE OF RACE.

Again we apologize and please feel free to reach out with any questions.
