[visordown.com] - 200 Santas on bikes

A GROUP of 200 Santas took part in a motorcycle ride to raise money for a children’s hospice on Saturday.

Members of the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group dressed as Santa for the ride through Thornaby, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar in North Yorkshire.

Supporters lined the streets and handed over thousands of pounds for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

Founder member Brian Laverick, a retired police officer, said: “We had 200 Santas, which is the most we have ever had, and the amount of people on the streets supporting us as we did the 21-mile ride made it even more special.

The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group was formed in 2006. Following Saturday’s ride, it hopes to have raised a total of over £500,000 for its two nominated charities, Zoe’s Place and the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
