what goes on the tube between the carbs?
Sorry to start a new thread for this, but I wanted everyone to see it. So I have the carbs apart for the second time. I notice that between the two carbs there appears to be a plastic tube that is not capped. Wondering if that needs to be plugged or where it goes? Thanks for any help or a link to some pictures or something.

I've never had the ninja carbs on the table before, but from my experience with carbs in general (since I have an old bike, it's a LOT), I'm going to have to say that it's a vent tube and is supposed to vent to atmosphere.

back out to the garage to continue cleaning. I pulled the air/fuel plugs out and found one almost all the way closed. Still running into the RPM problem. Pulled the air/fuel screws, springs, washers out and see a piece of gunk sitting right over the hole. So I'm back out to do more cleaning like I should have done the first time...

no it is not one of those hoses. It is at the very top between the two carbs. It is listed as a fuel overflow tube and is supposed to have a hose attached. Mine does not, but is not a big deal. Thanks for the feedback.

It is a little bit of a big deal. You don't want gas dripping down onto a hot exhaust. I recommend you buy a couple feet of 1/4" fuel line and a barbed connector and run that line down below the exhaust on the right side. There's a metal hoop on the frame you can run it to.
