636 help

I have a friend with an 05 636 that has a full Leo Vince exhaust, 15k+ miles, and is the 2nd owner.

He is having missing problems in the higher rpm range. Like the bike would sputter and have trouble getting any higher in the rev range.

He's replaced the fuel pump and plugs and still has the same problem. I have noticed a few puffs of fireballs coming out of his exhaust when riding at night.

I don't think he's done a valve check/adjustment yet.

What's a good forum to look at?

No, It has a PC3 but we disconnected it and connected the factory wiring back in to see if it was the PC3 but it's still occurring.

Is there a power commander? Maybe it's set up retardedly, but since the fuel pump isn't it... makes me wonder

All that is typical of lean mix.

Maybe the exhaust restriction is too low for those injectors.

Just about to say lean but normally that wont cause fire balls

Fuel pump still may be bad or something is clogged in the line

Has the bike done it since he bought it or did it just start doing it? Do you see the flames when he is accellerating or when he backs off the throttle? Could be valves.
Does his PC3 have different map settings? Try different map.
I would imagine the air cleaner is clean if he replaced the plugs and fuel filter.
Was the bike sitting for awhile? Check the air intakes for mouse nests.
Check Kawiforums.

The bike is constantly ridden. The PC3 is hooked back up. I took it out for a spin and the bike feels like it hits the rev limiter/fuel cut-off when I get to 9.5K in any gear.
