Nope,
I like the mini cooper s hardtop better though. Those cars are very fun to drive. Has enough power down low to spin the wheels pretty easily. There is supposed to be a redesign (I think mostly interior wise) in the works for the original cooper, I am waiting to see that.

That thing is fly. Nothing strange about wanting a nice looking car that achieves awesome gas mileage as well as amazing fun factor. Do want.

Love MINIs not so much the coupe. But I haven't driven it yet. Once I drive it I am sure I will fall in love. My mom has a 05 Cooper Convertible and I love it! Those cars have amazing handling! I would want the John Cooper Works Hatch myself. The MINI Countryman S is quite fun also. For a small SUV that would be my number one choice. Anywho I love MINIs. Get one!

If that's your dad's honest opinion, he needs a new opinion.

I don't think the Mini Coopers are girly cars at all... But this is coming from a dude whose car is painted raspberry metallic, so take my post with a grain of salt. I guess I'm just comfortable with my sexuality.

They are perfect being FWD!!! RWD would ruin the MINI. It would be impossible for the car to be a mini if it were RWD.

Wait for the FT-86/BRZ that car sounds really promising. Hopefully they can get some good torque numbers out of it. I am eagerly waiting for december when the production models are shown. FR promises some fun. Rwd is good just for the simple fact you aren't making your front wheels do everything (steering, power, most brake force, maintaining path, etc). This is also good for the car maintenance wise

I agree mini+fwd just seems they way they should be. Nothing wrong with FF cars if they tune the suspension right. The cooper s handles pretty well and doesn't run into understeer easily. I liked it a lot.

Nothing wrong with wanting a Cooper, great handling & looks, practical & fun but this is coming from a Cooper fan.
Original mini cooper with twin SU carbs, race suspension in the hands of a 20 year old,it was a recipe for disaster.
A good way to determine your top speed with police chasers after you,ha.

Yeah the Scion FR-S could be a huge sucess! I can't wait to test drive one. http://www.autoweek.com/article/2011...NEWS/110429985 RWD have many, many benefits over FWD cars. The main one in my book is they are more flickable than fwd at stock! But for a lower powered economical MINI it doesn't make sense.

I think it is safe to say the MINI handles very well for a stock car with the price tag is has. And the MINI is very neutral, it's stock suspension setup is perfect! With a little left foot braking you can just whip it around tight turns! So much fun.

There is a reason the naturally aspirated Mini was so dominating on the Auto-X track when it came out, the car simply rocks. Now due to the power increase, the Cooper S did not have enough to do so well. The NA motor, well that thing was a terror on the Auto-X track. There was ALWAYS (and probably still is, I don't Auto-X anymore) a Mini at the top of that class' rankings.

Yep its for those benefits that I am waiting for it to be revealed. It sounds like it has great potential. Some of the de-camoed photoshops I saw of the FR-S look awesome and pretty similar to what you can glean off of the camoed prototypes.

I hope it is a huge success, so that way Honda will have to create a new S that will compete with the FR-S. Honda has gone downhill in my book since they stopped making the S2000. But if not, I am glad Toyota is getting back into the sports car market, even if it is through Scion.

That is unfortunately true. I've owned two S2000s in the past and was pretty active in the S2000 owners' community, even attending various meets. Eventually I noticed the regulars started selling their cars and moving away from the S2K scene.
It suddenly dawned on me when I saw AP1s for sale for less than $10k... "The S2000 is becoming a Honda Civic sports car!"
Anyone, and I literally do mean ANYONE, can afford an S2000 these days! It's insane!
I still miss my CR, but I had to move on for my newborn's sake. I'm glad I stepped into the sport bike world not too long afterward. My 250R, though slower than the S2000 CR in straightline acceleration, definitely replaces the missing fun factor.

Ah, the S2000 Honda's last real sports machine. Dude did you hear they were thinking about bringing the NSX back as a hybrid? And we all saw the failure that the CR-Z was? Come on Honda lets think about what needs to be done. Mitsubishi went way downhill too, axing the evo (unbelievable) and the eclipse (the latest wasn't the best but it has a valuable lineage) .

Wow if Honda does that I will slap them in the face! A hybrid NSX, that is just wrong. And don't get me started on their huge CR-Z failure! AHhhh. Honda is losing it! And the redesigned civic is just stupid. They look like Toyota Corollas. But Toyotas might actually look better. That is sad. SO I cannot wait to see how this new Scion turns out. I hope it gets Honda back in the game.

I hope it gets Honda back in the game.
Haha yep Honda is losing it. I mean its nice to do hybrids (I still think its a waste, more R & D could be spent on hydrogen tech but that's another story) but the CR-Z was a failure as a sports car and as a hybrid. My altima even when I WOT the crap out of it can still get me into low 30s mpg. A hybrid NSX already sounds like a terrible idea especially with how sucky the CR-Z is. The new civic is basically the last gen civic, there really isn't much new. I looked at the civic si and it looked nice, but then I drove a vw gti and that was better in every single way.

I am still deciding if I want Subie's version or the scion, but soon everything will be revealed. The new stang is pretty sweet. Ford made a really great pair of engines for it. Its a shame they are thinking of axing their very well developed v6 for a turbo 4.

What year? I just got a 2012 and I freaking love it. I think the interior seems pretty well put together actually.

They're a pain in the a$$ to work on. I just did a clutch/FW on an S model hatch and I think I cussed the whole time.

They (supercharged S versions) sure aren't near as fast or quick as what I expected before driving a few. The interior is ok. I didn't like it the first few times I drove one, but I guess I got used to it. Would I ever buy one? Hell no!

Something odd too, the plastic used to make the mudflaps/wheel opening trim must be attractive to vermin for some reason. I've seen a number them with the corners of the plastic mud flaps chewed/eaten off.
