Slide...Crash...

The thrill of riding the #3 rated road in beautiful British Columba Canada was on my side, being with my family and having a whole long weekend to ride, ride, ride!
I was coming around a tight right corner when I realized there was a lot of gravel on the road, I tried to lean in and trust my tires but had to stand it up... it was like hitting ice...there I was, alone in the ditch mad as hell that my baby was hurt.
I picked her up there in the ditch, and had myself a moment until my mother in law came around and saw me there.
Yesterday I found out that there are so many good people in this world, car after car stopped to ask if they could help, I ended up stopping one and asking them to let my husband and father in law, who had gone ahead of us ladies, know what had happened. Needless to say my bike was scratched all down the side, I put my turn signal that had been ripped off back on and we headed on our way to enjoy the rest of the beautiful Duffy Lake Road.
... Does anyone have a good idea of how to fix my baby without buying all new parts?

Well it seems that your alright, which is great! Just curious, what year is your ninja? Depending on the year (old gen or new gen) we can help you further with the repairs. Also, if you post some pictures of the damage I'm sure it would help even further in determining what needs to be fixed and how you should go about fixing it.

I noticed your first post about coolant levels was in the new gen section so that answers that question.

sounds like you're in for some fun with sandpaper, bondo and paint.

If you're still new to riding and the "damages" were just cosmetics, I would say to just leave it there, battle scars are earned not just given hehe, and the first 1 - 2 years or 100 - 10k miles is still a "learning stage" for most riders, and most likely riders will drop their bike in this period. But I'm glad you're okay were you wearing gear?

Thanks for saying that... for some reason I feel embarrased and rather silly for crashing. I keep having to remind myself that if I were in the same place again, I'd do exactly what I did and there was nothing I could do about hitting the graval on that tight corner.
Yes for the most part I had good gear on, I had my Astars boots, Jacket and gloves but I think I'm going to invest in some good leather pants before i head out to have fun on a road like that... I just had jeans on.

There we go (: please invest on some good gear first, cause I've read about this guy who had a mishap, (he was just wearing jeans) and he's under going therapy for like 6 months now, still can't run, and there's still pain on his leg, he said that if had any protection on his knees/legs then it'll be different. And don't be embarrassed that you crashed, it means that you're pushing yourself to almost the limit and you're learning from that. Ride safe

If you're new to riding, you're far better off leaving them as is, unless they are falling off the bike. Chances are this won't be the last time your bike is horizontal (statistically speaking, nothing personal). That way you don't have to do the same work more than once.
