HARLEY-DAVIDSON has just released this teaser video showing a mysterious bike shooting past in a blur, with the message 'Get ready'.

Earlier this week Visordown revealed that what looked like a production-ready electric Harley had been snapped on set of the new Avengers film.

The bike in this short teaser video moves too fast for us to tell if it's the same one, and spends most of its four seconds on screen obscured by a 'Route 66' sign.

But we're guessing it's no coincidence that noise from the machine seems to be more of an electric whiz than the 'potato potato' sound traditionally associated with Harley engines.

The aural clue has not been lost on those to view the video, which appeared on the official Harley YouTube channel this evening.

One comment says: 'Harley-Davidson appears to be just a day away from unveiling an electric motorcycle, and it's teasing the new bike on YouTube. In a video, a (relatively) quiet motorcycle whizzes down a highway, letting out a sharp, almost sci-fi sound that you certainly don't hear from noisy gas vehicles.'

Another says: 'What the **** is this?'

Whatever it is, it looks like we won't have to wait long to find out. The video ends with the simple message: '06.19.14'. That's tomorrow in American speak.

So is that when we'll see the new electric Harley?
