Jardine RT-5 Exhaust

Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the Jardine RT-5 Exhaust.
$400 for a full exhaust seems like a screaming deal, just wondering if there is a reason why it's so cheap.

Thank you!

Don't know anything about Jardine exhaust but that price seems like a screaming deal for a complete system.

There's no particular reason, actually. The big thing is that with a full aftermarket exhaust, you will have to rejet your carbs, which is additional time and money.

I would say just stick with your stock exhaust. You'll save money and a lot of time. The cost/benefit ratio simply isn't worth it.

It depends on future plans for the bike.

I went the full exhaust route and spent time jetting the carbs knowing my 250 will be a dedicated track bike in the future.

It comes down to the individual really, I enjoy my Ninjette much more with full exhaust, pods, and jet kit. To each their own.

Rejetting for a full system with the air box (with or without the snorkle) is pretty painless. You really only need to test the stock main jet and one size larger, along with a a couple different numbers of washers. You can have it done in an afternoon. If you switch to pods, you'll have to test more main jets and do more adjustment of the idle mix screws.

For $375 for a name brand full system, go for it! A couple jets and a couple washers will make it a great running bike.

I just installed the full rt-5 system and so far so good. Haven't put it on the dyno yet and haven't rejetted yet. I am in the process of converting my 250 into a fully race prepped machine, however, in the mean-time I am riding on the street and I will say this exhaust is LOUD. Jardine says it's street legal but im not convinced. This is coming from someone that loves loud bikes. Just a heads up, enjoy

That's what I was afraid of, was a seriously loud exhaust.
Thank you so much for the reply, I'm not one for loud exhausts on the 250, just seems like it would make alot of noise and not go anywhere.

yeah no prob. i wouldn't go this route if you're riding on the street. honestly if i could do it over i would have bought an areap system or a graves system... live and learn.

You clearly have never ridden a ninjette with a full exhaust. It is well worth the money

Says who? If anything it's more worth it on these bikes. Full exhaust/pod filter/jet is ~30% power gain on this bike.

I've heard the jardine in person and not only is it loud but it sounds like ****. No smoothness at all, just loud put put put put put put put.

I have the RT-5 Carbon on my bike, I love the sound, nice and throaty for the 250. Compared to stock, as every exhaust, it is louder, but I wouldnt rate it as "too loud." I also have a background of racing quads so loud was never an issue for me Needless to say, I love my Jardine! If it werent installed on the bike when I purchased I probably would have gone Yoshi.
