Opinion poll: Stickers or no stickers?

Scheduled to pick up my new GSXR tomorrow. wOOt!

On this particular bike, I kind of like the way it looks completely plain. The shape of the white fairing just seems to work well all by itself. I'd keep the SUZUKI across the bottom and the S on the tank. Understated and classy.

What do you think? Stickers or no stickers?

One of our resident Photoshop aces did up some simulations for me.

A gsx-r without the stock stickers = it's been crashed and the owner didn't have insurance, so they didn't go with OEM fairing replacements. IMO - if you were going for a complete repaint for some custom design, go to town. But just slightly tweaking the look on the stock color scheme would be a step backwards.

If I were to do it I'd buy a set of OEM stickers to return it to stock appearance for later sale. No question. This would just be because I happen to like the look.

If I'd gotten one of the alternate colors (all black would be the first choice) I'd have left the graphics. On that color scheme they work well.

I came into this thread thinking you were going to plaster it with stickers from different parts manufacturers, but I actually like the stock decals. I think that the GSX-R decal is iconic, sort of like how our Ninja decals are.

I think it looks better without the stickers and like your idea of having OEM stickers to put back on when you sell the bike down the road.

Put a ninja 250 sticker on it for kicks, and so you can still represent and then play dumb when people ask about it.

The sticker is gaudy but it would look weird without it.

Stick (see what I did there? ) with the stickers. I think bikes look dumb when they're de-badge'd.

Sponsor-type stickers look dumb as well. But I like OE stickers.

Whatever you like, you should go with...everytime I see a bike without the stickers, I just imagine it being treated the bike like crap and/or it having been wrecked, like Alex said.

It looks a bit plain without them, and gixxers are known for having thin paintwork, you don't want to damage it. Are the stickers above or below the clearcoat?

Keep the stickers... The more you do. The less it's worth when you want to sell it.

Above.

I'll probably leave 'em. That seems to be the consensus.

The bike looks better in person than in photos.

You've answered your own question.

I don't see why you need a bunch of people to validate your taste/opinion before removing a couple of stickers.

I take it you aren't exactly Frank Sinatra.

Leave the stickers and add two things; Yosh carbo-fiber full exhaust and Yosh sticker under the GSXR sticker. That's the perfect look.

I think you should stretch the swing arm and add a bunch of cool aftermarket brand stickers to make it look really fast. And skip the yoshi, too quiet, get a custom straight pipe done.

Amateur! You have to get a Corona brand cut-off tshirt, not a wife beater.

There's a wiki article proving that the Corona Wife beater is more abrasion resistant that leather.

for me, the GSXR sticker looks like the stickers that kids put on their civics and corollas to make them look fast. It is one of the most cheesy looking oem stickers out there. the suzuki sticker at the bottom proves that you didn't crash.

take that crap off.

i have the same opinion of the text that kawi chose for "ninja"... waaaay too cheesy.

No stickers. Not only do I like the plain look, I also like the fact that waxing is easier since you don't have the stickers edge to deal with. Taking the stickers off also keeps people guessing what kind of bike you have.

Heh. I posted the same poll over on gixxer and there it's 92% "keep it."

A different crowd indeed.
