Yeah I did that and just wasn't satisfied. Plus I like the idea of that piece being there for some sort of stability.

I'll see if lowe's has an adapter I can use.

With it some what tight and that piece out, but with the black rubber piece one the outside under the light it keeps it in place. Never had an issue with it. BUT...if you do figure something out, let me know.

Went to cycle gear just because I was in the area. Turns out they had 1 Hotbodies smoked black windshield for the new gen. On clearance, marked down to $5!!!!
This quick 5 minute project became a 2 day adventure with her getting naked and me becoming much more familiar with the bike.

End result:

Which one? Even if they don't have anymore it might save me the trouble of calling that one.

Killer deal on that windscreen!

Today I safety wired my front and rear caliper mounting bolts.

Getting it ready for CMRA tech inspection in late february.

Slowly but surely getting all the required bits safety wired before round 1 at motor sport ranch Houston.

I decided to swap my already DIY license plate mount for my own friction hinged mount design. The hinge is all 316 Stainless steel and all the hardware is SS as well since this area tends to get quite wet.

Legally, the tag mount can't be removable by hand or flip-able. I think the CA law says "rigid" with the implication that it takes tools to remove or change positioning.

Just avoid drawing attention to it next time you get stopped.

Called a place to inquire about 18k service pricing. Taking him in Thursday for valves and plugs.
Hurts the wallet but worth it to keep 'im going for longer and longer. At least until I have the time/money/tools to do it all myself.

I could probably do the plugs myself, as I've done them on my car, but futzing around with the engine is on my "no" list until my bike is not my only vehicle because my SO tried to do the valves and sync the carbs on their bike and effed it royally. Had to get a new engine and then that one needs tuning and it was just a huge costly nightmare.
That was a big '79 honda cb750 but still.

I'm broke and I can't afford my bike also being broke so for now it's up to the professionals.

When I last did my valves and checked the sync on my carbs I added remote hoses for check the sync without pulling anything off. If it needs adjustment then I do have to pull the left cover and use a special right angle tool.

Price seems decent, for a valve and carb service. Hopefully they can get you in and out quick.

They're saying they doubt the carbs need work, so that price doesn't include work on the carbs, but it does include the plugs and checking out the carbs for possible weirdness.

And yes...apparently they were backed up but since it's my only transportation they're going to try to do it sooner for me. o: I don't mind giving small businesses my business. They can be more flexible and I know it's helping them out.

Finished spraying one panel, gave it a wet sand at 1300 grit and a final coat and it's looking sexy! Still a bit of speckle in places but i'll buff that out, before and after shot included.

Cost list

Sandpaper 60p a sheet x 5
Filler £9
Epoxy £5
Spray cans £8 x 4
Rubbing compound £9

How many "p's" in a £? 100?
Also, what color did you use to paint the fairing? Did you get Kawi green somewhere?

100 pence in a pound. - seriously, Wikipedia is your friend.

And no, I used "Plasti-Kote Gloss Super 1127 April Green" on-top of Plasti-Kote Primer Super.

It's virtually identical to Kawasaki Green, i'll see how close it is when I put them on and I can see in contrast.

No one could tell you a dime is 10 pennies? Or do you mean they couldn't tell you the meaning behind the word dime? Is there a meaning behind pence and pound?

They could tell me the value but not why that value was attributed a name, and a pound sterling when linked to the value of gold was worth one lb of gold, hence pound, and ai don't know why a penny is called a penny, pence being the plural of penny.

My best friend and chief mechanic has a machine shop in SoCal that makes some cool stuff including a lot of turbos and manifolds for the auto industry. I don't ask him for much because I don't like to bug, but when I do he seems to welcome the challenge. If I had his equipment I'd never be able to stop modding my bike
