Benefits to jetting?
Im not really sure what jetting the bike does exacally can someone please explain it to me?

It allows more fuel to come through into the engine, this is necessary because when you put on a new exhaust or remove the air box (or even sometimes from the factory) the air/fuel mixture is too low (or sometimes very rarely too high) and finding the correct jet for your setup corrects this and makes the bike run better.

I believe jetting makes your bike less fuel efficient, but how much more cash approximately will be used for fueling up compared to stock?

the term "jetting" applies to any changes that are made to the amount of fuel delivered by the carbs. "Jetting" can be either adding more or less fuel depending on what the intake/exhaust setup runs best with.
for example, pod filters require more fuel so rejetting is required. On the other hand, the stock airbox runs right at WOT, so rejetting to smaller main jets is the path that some take to get it to perform better/get better mileage. In this case, the bike runs fine, so changes aren't really necessary, but it has been done in the past. |
