Any thoughts on the FMF Apex Carbon Ti exhaust?
I was looking around at some more options for exhausts. I stumbled upon this pretty nice one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FMF-A...ht_2304wt_1825 .
I just love the look of it, especially the end shape. Anyone have any experience with this one? I plan on just getting a slip on since I just pretty much want looks with some noise and maybe a little bit more power with shimming needles. Not too concerned on the power aspect. It seems that any review for fmf exhausts seem to get great reviews. No one has reviewed or really talked about this one |

Apex
Put one on my 09, nice sound, low weight and well made. Makes good power with needle shim.

I have an FMF APEX s/o
Hey Nick,
FYI, you may want to message the vendor and ask him if it's really a DIAMOND shape like they're talking about.. I too ordered mine from an ebay vendor for about the same price 1 year ago. The picture they had was of the same diamond shape but what I got is what's in the pictures below. I have not seen any diamond shaped FMF s/o's on the new 250R so far. Also, you'll most likely need to find a way to get the s/o to fit it snugly on the end of the header.. my personal suggestion is to buy an OEM gasket that goes inside the s/o. It was a PITA to find this out after I received the s/o and tried to install it as it was totally loose. The directions never said I'd need one, but hopefully they've realized this and updated their instructions. well enough of my yappin, here are pics of mine: |

Take a measuring tape and go to the local dirtbike store the pipes are way cheaper there and see if you can find one that will work. My .02 if you want to ease the strain on the wallet.

Thanks for bringing that up, I'll contact the seller. Did you purchase the '11009-1669 Gasket, Exhaust pipe c ' (under mufflers: http://www.mrcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp ) roughly $10?
Edit: I looked up the part number on their website and it is indeed the cylinder kind, not diamond shaped. Very misleading. |

fa sho.
yes, 11009, GASKET,EXHAUST PIPE C 11009-1667 should fit.. it did for me, and I checked around a bunch of local auto stores but none had any like it, so that's why I went OEM. BTW, MR cycles is a good place to buy. I've purchased from them before. |

Thanks for the info.
Yep MR cycles has earned my business. I bought my shift lever and fairings for one side plus the front from them (~$550). They ship through fedex, sadly fedex takes 7-9 days (ups 5 days, usps 3 days) |

Is there a reason you would spend $330+ for a slipon, when you could get a complete system (without the internal baffles in the pipes) for $260?
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21899 Never mind, I re-read your comments and realize you're not concerned about the power. YMMV |

Because, no offence to the makers, that exhaust looks worse than stock. I'd either want to pay ~300 for a slip on that I like a lot, or pick up the area p full system. Hoping to go for a slip-on. $536 with tax for a full area p carbon. Pricey for me

Actually didn't read through enough to see that they will powder coat to black for no additional charge. Maybe I will get that one, thanks for linking me to it again :P

If you look up the fmf dual diamond shaped carbon exhausts...they look simply amazing. Much better than dual round pipes. Seem to get pretty good reviews, not super pricey compared to some.
