AMA Vintage Motorcycles Days celebrates another great event showcasing three days of vintage motorcycle racing, product displays and demo rides, bike shows, seminars, a bustling marketplace, entertainment and camaraderie at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

American Motorcyclist Association thanks those who contributed to the success of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Riders of Kawasaki

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country gathered to enjoy three days of vintage motorcycle racing, product displays and demo rides, bike shows, seminars, a bustling marketplace, entertainment and camaraderie at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Riders of Kawasaki, July 7-9.

The annual event — organized and promoted by the American Motorcyclist Association — raises funds for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame to support its mission to promote the heritage of motorcycling in America.

Through the generous support of AMA affinity group Riders of Kawasaki – ROK, powered by the AMA – this year’s event honored Co-Grand Marshals Tony Nicosia, Steve Johnson, Gary Semics and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Jeff Fredette.

AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman thanked all the volunteers, partners and AMA staff members who participated.

“AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days provides an opportunity, each year, for motorcyclists to come together and immerse themselves in the history of our shared passion, as well as look forward to the future of motorcycling and what lies ahead for us a community,” Dingman said. “We would like to thank everyone who helped promote and preserve motorcycling’s heritage through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.”

Dingman also thanked those companies that provided financial support for the event.

“Riders of Kawasaki, MotoArmory, Old Bike Barn, Federal Motorcycle Transport, Nationwide and Metal Rescue all played an important role this year in supporting AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, as well as the Hall of Fame,” Dingman said.

Many AMA promoters and clubs assisted in the operation of racing activities throughout the weekend.

“This event would not be possible without the support of our partners,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “All of the individuals involved with race operations played a pivotal role in the overall success of the event.”

Massey thanked WERA Motorcycle Roadracing Inc. for organizing the road racing activities; Trials Inc. for planning and scoring the AMA Vintage Trials event; Mandi Mastin and her family for running the AMA Vintage Hare Scrambles; Baja Acres MX; Log Road MX; Steve Nace Racing for assisting with AMA Vintage Dirt Track racing and Ashland County Fairgrounds for hosting the dirt track events.

In addition, Massey thanked John Ulrich and the Roadracing World Action Fund for providing the soft barriers for road racing events and MotoAmerica and American Flat Track for assisting in the coordination of the use of the soft barriers.

Massey also thanked KTM North America, Janus Motorcycles, Cleveland Cyclewerks, Zero Motorcycles and GasGas for providing demo rides to attendees.

“I would like to thank all of our speakers for providing educational and entertaining seminars for attendees of this event through our seminar program,” Massey said. “The talented musicians that performed onstage in the Old Bike Barn Crossroads also did an outstanding job.”

Other organizations Massey thanked were Ryan Young Products for performing in the XTreme Trials Exhibition, JRC Audio for assisting in infield and off-road audio, Green Savoree Mid-Ohio LLC, North High Brewing and Platform Beer Co.

“I would also like to thank the many vendors who filled the Old Bike Barn Crossroads and those who set up at the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days Swap Meet, brought to you by Federal Motorcycle Transport,” Massey said. “The many different and unique displays offered enjoyment for all.”

Other partners included American Motor Drome Wall of Death, SLAM Services, Mark and Dawn Merical, Mitch Boehm, TextInteractions.com, Hatfield RV and Chris Kuhn.

Bike building partners were Analog Motorcycles, Legion Cycle Works, Loaded Gun Customs, 6th City Cycles, Chi-Jer’s Vintage BikeWorks and Flying Tiger Moto.

Thanks were also extended to David Uhl, Ron Ribolzi, Bear Haughton, Ellis Holman and Graham Cousens for judging the bike show.

The Christian Motorcycle Association, Doug Vann, Motorcycle Ohio and ABATE of Ohio Inc. provided many hours of volunteer effort.

Clubs that participated included: British Motorcycle Club of Cincinnati, Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club, the Ton Up Club International Rally, International Norton Owners Association, Classic Wing Club, Warrior Souls MMC.
