Did some work on my bike yesterday. I removed the Kleen Air System, Removed the snorkel, and added another washer to each of my carbs, so I'm at 3 now. I didn't get to ride it to check out the performance differences, but just from starting it up, I could already tell that the third washer made a difference. I'm hoping to go riding a bit this weekend.

I also took off the carbon material I previously bought and replaced it with some OEM seat material to cover my solo cowl rubber.

There's a little gap between the cowl and the rubber piece, but it's not that noticeable IMO.

Thanks everyone! We just found out yesterday that we're having a boy! This is our third. We were hoping for a girl this time, we are 0-3. But we're happy either way, as long as he's healthy!

Vince, I'm planning on test fitting it this weekend and then after that I need to figure out where I'm going to get in painted. I'll post pics as soon as I do get it painted and on the bike.

Took the Ninja out for a little ride today and all I got to say is "Wow!". I went from two to three washers in my carbs, removed the Kleen air system, and removed the snorkel. My bike feels so much better. The throttle response in first gear is dramatically improved, even from just the two washers. My exhaust did still pop a bit, but nothing like it did before. I definetly like the sound alot better. Kinda wish that maybe I would have left the snorkel in. You can tell how it effects the sound of the bike, but I'm not about to put it back in, so I guess I'm just going to have to deal with it.

KKIM... you're the man!

I thought about it, but haven't really researched the benefits of switching it. Right now, everything feels dramatically improved, so I'm happy. Maybe when it comes time to change out the filter...

You have to wonder why in this day and age, the ultrasound techs don't have to register with all of their neighbors when they move in.

Very clean mods and very well done. Congrats on the baby definitely post some pics w/the new hugger. BTW, is it plastic or fiberglass? The the black color looks very flat. Interested to see the color against the rest of the bike.

The color of the hugger is a matte/flat black. It's actually at the shop right now being painted gloss black though. The hugger itself is fiberglass. The painter had some trouble with it. After he sanded and painted it, it seemed like it got pretty flimsy/brittle. They said they are going to try and fix it for me by reenforcing it from the inside and they are also going to install it for free. So for the time being, I'm bike-less since I took my bike to them yesterday. I'm hoping all goes well though in the end. This hugger has been a nightmare for me. One obstacle after the other...

Dragonboy - I got the rear hugger from Shinto-Racing. Do not buy from them. The owner is very flaky. Took almost 9 months for me to get the hugger. Avoid them like the plague!

DR1300R - You put a two brothers exhaust on the bike? I thought it was stock? I've been following the plumb crazy thread. The popping comes from the aftermarket exhaust.

It's a reminder cable. It's so I don't forget to take off the disc brake lock. Here's a better pic of it.

Got my bike back today!!! Rear Hugger is officially installed. I love the way it looks and couldn't be any happier. Although it was a lot of trouble to get, it was all worth it in the end.

Thanks. I think I'm finally amost done with it. Just have some D3 grips I need to install and possibly planning on changing the rear brake fluid reservoir and that's it for me.

Glad the hugger worked out.

Overall, very tasteful and well done. Only thing left is custom paint or graphics. Not too crazy about the factory tribal design. Otherwise, very clean as-is.

Finally picked up a 2010 SE Green Machine, so I just started modding. Thanks again for all the great ideas.

I can't take the credit for it... I had a local shop do it for me. They did a really good job though. I like that they took off the brake lines and ran it the way it was stock. They did have to bleed them, but I wanted them to do that anyways, cause I kinda messed up when I was test fitting it and possibly let some air in the brake lines. I don't know if I over paid, but it was $50 for the paint job, $30 for the brake lines, and $20 for the install. They pretty much painted it twice cause the first time around, the fender got brittle (cheap Shinto fiberglassing) after they sanded and painted it. So before they painted it a second time, they put some bondo in the inside to reenforce it and made it a bit thicker/stronger than it was before.

If there was a bike of the month award, you would win it . The hugger looks good, although I prefer mine bare. I'm just too lazy to pull something like that off every 2 weeks to clean & lube my chain. Want a decal to offset the black on the hugger? A nice kawaski decal would look good there

Like I say very nice job..

I personally would have done the fender in red and left the swing arm part semi black.. (kind of the way we did my wifes) also the rear foot pegs I think would flow better if they were black..

All in all very nice job, digging it.

btw; very good price in what you paid for paint and labor..

I thought about doing something similar to that, but since the front fender is all black, I decided to keep the back that way also, so it would look consistent. Plus, the cost of painting it would have been alot higher. As it is, I lucked out on the cost of the paint job cause the painter just happened to be painting fairings for another black Ninja (not a 250, but it was also gloss black), so he was able to just use the same paint to spray mine. They said if it wasn't for that, the cost would've been more like a $100 for the painting.

Wow I have the same bike but yours looks better
where did you get the ninjette.org sticker?
And the 250R sticker? Are you gonna replace your brake and clutch levers with red? That might look sick. I think I will be checking back to get websites so I can make mine look and sound a little cooler

Thanks. I bought the decals from a member on this forum. Both the ninjette and 250r ones. His name is cthunder-blue. Check the marketplace section, he has a thread there for ordering decals.

As for the levers, I already have red ones. I got the red and black, foldable, adjustable, levers off ebay from seller the2wheel.
