great bike for a good deal. May i ask where you got it? I have been checking out bikes here and there and was wondering wheres the best place to buy one. Like which dealership is more lenient towards fees and easier on the interest rates. I bought my 250 at bert's but i have heard that they're overpriced and i know i paid too much for mine.

My dealer told me the guys at Bert's are all expert salesman and will ream you as hard as they can. Heads up buying over there.

I have bought from Chaparral and a local place in town for the GSXR.
Chaparral didn't give me any breaks. I paid full price for my ninjette and crate and assembly but low finance for first 2 years. The guys locally gave me a lot of breaks but we gave them the ol 1-2 punch and they went for it.
I got really lucky. (or just broke even if you will, instead of getting reamed, and my tail cowl is still on the way and owed to me). My finance rate was the only real deal here and the fact that I walked out for $1000.

I still don't believe I have this bike honestly.

It sleeps inside with me in my bed. You'll have to kill me to take it
I'm ready for you. lol

Ps thanks Umar I was going to post a video of the sound just now. It's uploading.
Here's some more pics. The new real CF tank pad and a battery tender.

did you guys know this thing has roughly 150 horsies?
They don't even post the specs on the website I heard because they
don't want to sell bikes for horsepower alone.

lofl. I think it does 0-60 in three seconds.

SOOOOO jealous! Just a few days ago i went to the dealer where i bought my ninja and it was love at first sight. Sitting right there inside the front door parked next to 4 of her twin sisters....
I wanted to tell them to keep the ninja and take my truck. The gixxer 750 is my dream bike. And now that i've found this it only make me want it even more! I can't wait to get it... just need to figure out how to pay for it... Anyone wanna let me borrow 12,000?

My 2001 GSX-R 750 puts down 120hp at the rear wheel (it's been dyno'd).

The one thing that I really like about the new ones over mine are the more compact ergonomics.

I heard another guy say 130 with some mods.
I'm wondering if there is any truth to this 150 I heard for the 2011.
I doubt it for some reason that seems like an aweful lot, but they say the 600 does 126hp?! The 750 has to do more?

All I know is I definitely made the right choice. So happy they worked with me and gave me the bike. So lucky. Dream come true.

Yeah I NEVER ride without a helmet like that.
I was mid valve job and didn't want to get anything greasy.
I'd done it at Adrians tech day because nobody ever on his 5mph kids street and this was the only other time.

I had my safety glasses on and they flew off.
Stupid lol.

won't happen again..

All the test riding us techs have to do we know we will be OK if we just do a straight line down the street on somebody elses bike really quick and come right back.

Luckily there's only three houses on my small strip so nobody I couldn't see would be pulling out.

Yeah the dash flips out when you turn the key

It reminds me of a scene of some old movie where a kid walks up to a dusty old broken robot and touches it and it comes to life beeping and talking and zinging around. That movie doesn't exist, I can just see that scene in my head for some reason when I think about walking up and putting the key into this bike.

It feels like a weird robotic compressed air powered pneumatic spaceship. lol
Then you turn the throttle and it sounds like that Ferrari F360 I rented in Oahu that one year..

You have to keep in mind that manufacturers measure horsepower at the crankshaft, not at the rear wheel. You're probably looking at RWHP numbers of around 130 (pretty damned respectable) for yours.

You have a pretty sweet bike. Personally I wouldn't run a super sport on the streets, but that's just me.

I've been thinking of taking it to the track at some point or other. When I have it paid down quite a bit.

This thing is F****** FAST! Nowhere to open it up on the street!

While doing motoman break in, I notice in 3rd it hits indicated 140mph. (mode B)

I have not been able to redline the bike in fourth gear yet lol.

Really have to check yourself on these machines. So nice to be riding one though. So much more smooth and secure than the Ninjette. Corners on rails and much more predictable.

I find myself always leaving the bike set to mode B so far over the more punchy mode A. I also see there is a Mode C in the dash but the selector wont get me to it. lol I wonder what the mystical mode C does?!.. and how to get there.

Gotta go buy a service manual, ask for the owners manual I never received, my tail cowling and do the first oil change. Unfortunately, I have been riding around so much and so busy I have not been able to change the oil yet and already have 400 miles on the bike. I will being doing it today.

PS I'm getting 10 cents per mile gas use thats about 50/50 highway/city.

There are only two modes for 2011: A and B. They dropped the C mode. I guess someone forgot to tell the guy who makes the display.

Damn that mileage is way better than I expected. It's so easy to see how much fun you're having on that beautiful machine. Are you thinking frame sliders to protect it in case of shenanigans?

No.
the frame sliders on these bikes attach to the engine mount bolts and frame and such.

It's my opinion, after hearing from a few racers and myself from my ninja crash that flipped it onto the tail from the frame sliders I think... bending the tail end...
That it's better to use your plastics as the frame sliders instead of putting on frame sliders that flip the bike and help to bend and break your frame. That is, at high speed.
Low speed, frame sliders are great. But you won't do too much damage to your bike at low speed either ey? So I'm going to leave the sliders off.

Where is that picture 2wheelguy put up a year or so ago?
GSXR with a busted frame at the engine mount from a frame slider!
He said he watched the bike crash and it should have been fine but the slider busted the frame and wasted the bike.

Anyways,
went and picked up the loser's manual (user's manual for those who didn't pick up on it) and an oil change from the stealership today. Time to learn what everything does on the bike. Then get to drop the plastics and see her nakey for the first time

Best of luck KC. Xoulrath is right they dropped C mode for 2011. One or two mags just did a test of the 750 and Ithink they posted dyno charts. The thing is when everyone else dropped 750's Suz kept making them but didnt stop developing them (ie adding the BPF this year). Keep it shiny side up and enjoy.

We'll just have to figure out a way to get mode C back in there then. jl
I definitely like having the mode switch. I can see the benefit of only having two modes instead of all kinds of stuff to select from.

Couldn't take it anymore, had to rip into Suzi to see what she looked like underneath.

Learned tons about the bike last night. Was up till 4am reading the manual and adjusting things and doing half of the 600mi service since I am at 515 miles.
Only things I didn't get yet are the suspension bolts and adjust the tons of suspension settings, which may take a while. Also have to figure out/learn how to adjust the throttle body synchronization.

I may finally have to buy a carburetor synch tool eventually

Dropped the main plastics and broke those bastard tabs that are in the way, off, to make things easy for next time.

You can just drop the left fairing to get to the oil and filter on this bike and they made it easy. Dig it.
Frame reminds me of all my old GSXR's only blue and slightly beefier for less weight.

ah well here's some pics I know theres more to relay that I am forgetting that I did like tightening lots of chassis and brake bolts to torque specs etc etc.
You know, basic 600mi service.

Niiiiice plastic

left, exposed.

Well ain't that nifty, this year doesn't get crap everywhere when you drain the filter...

Uhhh huh huh huh, I see your thingy!

Magnetic plug came standard and collected some shavings

First oil change... here's the goo. Can't tell from this angle but it was metallic with shavings in it.

This is THE TOOL for removing Suzi filters.

Oh yeah baby! Inline four between the knees again!
don't have to do the valve job until 26,000 miles lol

Time to add

More muscles

Exhaust valve thingy.

Coolant was a bit low, it looks like it came with engine ice in it? The stuff is blue? I need to add more but not sure what type of coolant to add?

I torqued all the engine mount bolts down.

Then torqued the subframe bolts

Then lifted the tank for practice for next time I have to go in and check all the plugs and filter and injectors and all those goodies.

Heading down for the tail cowl in a bit.
Now I just need a to make fender eliminator with plate lights and reflectors that the cops will be happy with to get rid of the stock monstrosity.

Luckliy they made the tail end to modify easily with the four bolts that remove it and leave an easy access to mount the plate on an L bracket.

I remember what I wanted to tell you guys.
It appears the speedo is way the hell off.

Is there some sort of reason they can't make an accurate speedometer?
That seriously grinds my gears.

Seems odd that they can't. It's a pretty trivial thing: you just need to have something that counts the revolutions per second that the wheel makes and you need to know the radius of the wheel,

Might as well set it to KMH since I can't figure out what speed I'm going anyways lol. Back to the Iphone GPS dashboards.

Man, that's annoying lol.
For everything else on the bike to work so well but the speedometer. You'd think there is a purpose built reason they do it. there has to be. It's indicated higher than actual on every bike I've owned.
They trying to make you think you're going faster than you really are. When it says 75 and I get passed by a coca-cola truck I know something is up.

PS found an empty road with no side streets and super smooth asphalt yesterday and hit indicated 150mph in 4th gear redline. Only felt like I was doing 100. When I'm doing 100, only feels like I'm doing 70mph. This bike doesn't feel the bumps in the road..

and I still have to tune the four adjustments on the rear shock and six adjustments on the front!

I think the rear spring retainer nuts (whatever they are called) could be backed off a couple mm's to suit my comfort. I only weigh 165.
Time to learn how to set all the suspension up soon after I get those tools. The users manual was pretty clear about how to do so.

Hey congrats on the new bike. I can't tell if you are excited about the bike or if you are just excited about the bike.

Don't mind me asking... but why choose the 600 vs the 750? besides the ~$500 difference? or was it just that?

How's mode C compared to the 250? more than likely its like comparing apples to oranges but i thought i'd ask anyways. Oh and review of the gsx vs ninjette in the canyons please. probably another comparing apples to oranges answer.

The ZX10R will be a fun machine bro.

Got my cowl today. Had a helmet holder undearneath it too.
Never could figure out why the Ninjette was like that and now I know it holds helmets lol. I think the old GSXR was like that too, unless I'm getting them mixed up.

It rides twice as smooth now from the Mobile 1 4T racing synthetic oil too.
So awesome.
