Next pay cheque I plan on grabbing the variant. I have herd a little about the helmet. Mainly that there is a lot of drift with the helmet at top speed sometimes. But thats the only negative comment I have herd. To me looks different and pretty cool. Ill let you know how it is once I pick it up.

From the same people who brought us helmet horns
and accident inducing camo helmets, I'm not surprised they put out a helmet that - for show only without improving the helmet or its safety - has an air ram on top ready to steer your head all over the road. The face shield doesn't fully open, and the sun visor that gives it its sport-touring look, according to webbike world "doesn't really do anything." Then again neither to rear spoilers on slow cars or horns on helmets. I've pretty much decided that is ICON's market - the rear spoilers on econobox crowd. People going for a style choice they think looks cool, but everyone else thinks makes them look like a tool for spending money on something that doesn't improve performance or safety. For that price, I'd want something Snell rated that doesn't have random farkles on top that don't do anything. Man, I need my coffee this morning, I slipped into grumpy old man mode too easily Lol @ calling it a Halo helmet. I wonder if they'll offer matching body armor.

I'd rather invest my money into a quality helmet like Arai, Shoei or Suomy

After fittin it today i decided not to get it I ended up with the airframe
As far as quality goes shoei and arai wil always be at the top But i dont think i'll spend 450 dollars on a plain arai helmet As for shoei i really like the rf1100 but for 500 bucks ill spend the extra money somewhere else beside I dont ride agressively enough. Im wearing all shift gear just gettin an icon helmet and pls stay away from speed & strength helmet specially the ss1000 its feels like its made from cheap plastics After tryin it i sent it back to revzilla the shield get scratched easily the lock and load shield realese looks like its gona break |

I like the SS1000 helmets. When i went down in mine my head hit hard and i didn't feel a thing. They do have a plastic feel to them but its that poly alloy shell they use they are dot and ece rated so /shrug. they are the lightest helmets at that price point that is for sure. That is why there are different brands though. For me i hate HJC helmets, the one i have is heavy as hell, hurts my neck and has horrible vision. Its more like a torture device and less like a safety one lol. |

And for HJC the rps-10 fits like a glove in my head and super light when I fitted it and the ben spies design looks sick. But the pinlock system really gets in ur view if u crack it a bit often. |

The airframes are good all around helmets. The visor change is annoying though. I got the AirFrame Carbon. It's really light and cools your head, especially since summer's coming up. But don't get the Carbon if you live in windy areas. In Vegas we've been getting 30mph winds and that kinda tosses my head around. Next helmet I would get would probably a Shoei since I'm a fan of Kamen Rider *snickers*
