First Track Day of 2017

So this year I decided to do a few less track days, and to always go with friends since all the solo days last year got to be weirdly depressing. Finished my first of the year yesterday! I got to break in my new suit a bit (it makes me look so boxy :P But better protected than pretty!) and I focused a lot on re-establishing reference points, nailing my body positioning, and throttle control. Mostly throttle control was how I evaluated my RPs.

One rider said I looked like a transformer -- I'd just suddenly have my knee out and body in position for a turn and the bike didn't so much as wiggle. I'm taking that as a good thing.

One of my friends (Jo) brought a 'pit crew' who watched us and said I was looking great and even advised I follow/lead Jo for a session. It was a lot of fun, though it's hard to lead without mirrors. She got a ton out of it though and that made me feel pretty good. Taught her to focus on one thing at a time and how to make sustainable improvements; and her throttle control and ability to use the whole track both got much better.

It's not how you look off the bike, it's how you look on the bike. Although, I look great on both, in my opinion.

Never had an Aston Martin DB4 or 5, but I've had a number of Jaguars. I had a XK150S in high school, a Mark 9 and two V12 E-types. And got a lot of looks too!
