About 6 months until my 21st. Finally I'll be able to apply for a CCW.

Oh, yeah. And I guess I'll be able to buy wine.

I've been known to drink sake now and then. Mostly with sushi.

Whiskey's been my go-to for a while, though.

A nice shooting vodka, if you all are interested: Shevkoff. That is the vodka I was talking about earlier. Nice stuff. Has less of the rubbing alcohol taste, but a nice and smooth finish. I like it a lot. I actually have a very hard time mixing it with anything. It is quite smooth.

I can't eat sushi without a hot sake. It compliments the flavor of the sushi so well. It is kind of like great Mexican food, a Dos Equis Ambar works so well with it and really brings out the flavors.

not to jack the thread but you can't have the Rifleman screen name and not have a few firearms.

this is what I carry, Colt 1991 Mod 80 stainless, fully modified with a skeleton trigger and hammer, beaver tail. Crimson Trace Coccoloba grips (laser) and Trijcon tritium night sights. 2 extra mags stoked with Hornady Critical defense rounds. ID case with the important stuff in it, "fake" wallet with the junk and some cash. Hopefully I'll never have to find out how competent I am.

I'll PM you with my carry choice and my reasoning because maybe you can change my mind if it's a bad decision and I don't want to derail the thread further, but I will say:

Great attitude to have. Wanting to be prepared is the right mentality, and wanting to be a hero is the wrong mentality

How can there be a discussion about alcohol without guns?

Cigars anyone?

Do the Cubans still make the best?

IMO the best leaf is grown in Cuba... the best cigar masters are from Honduras or the Dominican Republic...

if we could ever get actual market forces in Cuba, the best rollers and the best leaf would be in the same location... and Cohiba would return to the days when it was king. That being said, Ashton, Aurturo Fuente' Gran Reserva in the 50 (Churchill) ring, or the Baccarat Luchadores in 43 ring are a very good second choice...

you see, when you have no wife, and the kids are adults and on their own... you have time and money for the finer things in life.

Just be careful, some Cohiba cigars are made in the Dominican Republic and aren't authentic Cuban cigars...

Yes, be very careful! Dominican Republican cigars are much less healthy than Cuban cigars.

DISCLAIMER: I don't smoke. I get light headed just putting a cigar in my mouth unlit (not kidding).

Oh ok here ya go. My brothers recipe:

Grand Marnier (Vino de Benito)

1 gallon glass jar
1/2 bottle of brandy (1.75 liter bottle)
1 orange poked with cloves
1 and 1/2 cup of sugar
Several sticks of cinnamon

Mix brandy, sugar and cinnamon in jar.
Hang clove poked orange 1 inch above brandy mixture and tighten lid.
Leave jar in cool dry place to age for 22 days.
After aging squeeze the juice from orange into brandy mixture and stain.
Brandy is now ready to drink.

The vodka I've been sipping on as of lately is Shevkoff. The finish on it is a bit different than what I'm used to.

I got another bottle of New Amsterdam last night. I still have 1/3 of the Shevkoff. For sipping, it works great.

I do not drink but I do smoke.

How to tell if they are made in the Dominican Republic? Just finished smoked a few the other day and it was expensive as hell. Forgotten to check the "made in where" on the covers.

I don't drink or smoke or do drugs. And no caffeine. Definitely not any sugar.

With that said... ^^^ it's a good question.

The south-eastern marlboros are a hell of a lot cheaper than the ones sold stateside by phillip morris. I'm still not convinced that any of them are truly "made in america." I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that phillip morris used to be a division of the altria corp, which was associated with the same folks who sold kraft products (mac and cheese!) and nestle products (hersheys!).

Whoops, we are going off topic.

Sailor Jerry Teams With Harley-Davidson

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum has hooked up with Harley-Davidson in a national campaign. The promotion features 22 custom Harleys “designed by high profile artists and visionaries from around the United States including Harley-Davidson's own Styling Team.”

This partnership will come to life in bars, restaurants, Harley-Davidson dealerships and joint celebrations around the country. Consumers can expect a series of shared events leading up to Harley-Davidson's 115th Anniversary in 2018. The participating artists include a range of innovators with backgrounds in tattoo design, mural paintings, street art and automotive design. Acclaimed tattoo artists Jonathan Valena aka JonBoy, Oliver Peck, and Megan Woznicki aka Megan Massacre have designed a selection of bikes as well as popular Miami-based muralists, Alexander Mijares, celebrated automotive designer, Michael "BuckWild" Ramirez and artist L'Amour Supreme. Each artist was tasked with interpreting the infamous flash art style of Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins into their unique motorcycle design.

The motorcycles will be unveiled in a public celebration at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee on May 2, 2017. The bikes will then be available for viewing around the country all summer at liquor retailers, Sailor Jerry's Fleet Week New York celebrations, the Harley-Davidson Museum and more. Fans will have a chance to win a motorcycle through a sweepstakes program kicking off on May 15. There will be twenty-two total bikes available to win. To enter, participants can log on to www.SailorJerry.com/Harley-Davidson and can receive additional information on the sweepstakes.

"Between our shared American roots, values and traditions, collaborating with Harley-Davidson is an exciting and natural fit," said Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum Senior Brand Manager Josh Hayes. "Harley-Davidson shares Sailor Jerry's genuine Americana values for freedom and living outside the lines.“
Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum was created to honor Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins, a Navy vet who built his rep inking soldiers and sailors in WWII-era Honolulu where he established his legendary tattoo parlor and himself as the undisputed father of American old school tattooing. For more information, visit*www.sailorjerry.com.

Hey! Four more months.

Being under 21, my only experience with beer has been with the nasty, cheap stuff. The first sip is always enjoyable, but after that it's usually not worth drinking. Everyone always talks about hops and IPA and all that other beer jargon. Would someone recommend me a decent "real," beer to try on my 21st? Something that I'll enjoy with a good, disgustingly caloric deli sandwich. Also, for what it's worth, I'm not looking to get trashed like everyone else on their 21st. I've seen too many people wrap their cars around trees to enjoy overindulging anymore.

Guinness is a good choice. I like a lot of beers- Newcastle, Guinness, any of the stouts or porters. See if you can get a tasting of a few beers. Many microbreweries do these and it's a great way to taste several without getting too hammered.
